1a - Mandalorians are planned to be added as a faction, as well as the Hutts
1b - Influence units like this already exist in TR (another mod by this team), but I believe Corey said that due to the era this takes place in, influence units like that are unlikely similar to how boarding vessels in this mod won't happen because of the era.
2 - This is because the game doesn't have a designated "forward" position for units, only positions they can drive. That means for units like the TX-130s, you'll need to manually face them the right way, but this does make them great for kiting enemies.
2b - Models are shared between mods by this team, changing this probably isn't a priority.
3 - For balance reasons, when you gain your subfaction all of the structures are destroyed and need to be rebuilt. Though you should gain their remaining units, people have been reporting a bug that prevents this.
4 - Orbital Bombardments can be prevented by the use of Hypervelocity & Ion Cannons, as well as Shutter Shields. Shutter Shields also prevent bombing runs.
5 - Many files are shared between the mods, this includes the loyalties for indigenous units. So in TR, Bothans are set to be allied to "rebels," and the New Republic takes the Rebel slot. In FotR, the CIS takes the Rebel slot, so the Bothans are allied to them. This is being worked on.
Thanks for the response Angelic.
1a/b - Being a Legends mod that makes sense, wasn't entirely sure if it was a merge between both. In TR, I was using stealth units to take over independent worlds and using the independent fleets as deterrence. Did the same in FotR until my Republic Commandos got wiped out. Noticed sometimes the whole squad wasn't showing up, do individual squad deaths carryover? Mandalorians as a faction would be great.
2 - Makes sense, I've been finessing to get them facing the right way. The unit model isn't a big deal, especially after Order 66
3- Yeah there were no units as well when gaining Security Forces (maybe there could be a reminder or hint that the era change is coming up?), I played as CIS before the big update, and it worked getting units on that one when acquiring other factions.
4- I'll have to see if it denies orbital next time with hypervelocity, never noticed.
5- Understandable, I don't mind if they're enemies, but would be preferable if they weren't also allied to CIS as well, haha.
Because they exist in both Legends and Canon. Just the same as Rex, Ahsoka, Darth Vader, Luke, and any other prominent character from material created before Disney bought Star Wars that they couldn't cut to legends.
I'm not saying they won't add them but its really unlikely since they already have Delta.
The heroes like Durd and Trench were added because they ARE legends characters who got FEATURED in the clone wars tv series.
Not to mention the amount of work needed to do fan service when they already have projects in the works. Even if its possible they would add them, it wont be for a long time.
And they are very reluctant to do fan service. This is their legends themed mods and they have said many many many times that if you want something that bad, you have all the files and info they have, so make your own submod.
"Why no Mandalore or Mandalorian units? (and general native units)"
Mandalore is on the map, and there'll be relevant native units for them in the future (no Kandosii during the clone wars), whenever the artists on the team get to that. Same with other Native units, since we are doing the mods in our free time and don't want too much bloat, we can't add everything at once haha! We will not be adding in Mandalore as a playable faction in FOTR however.
"On an aside, Locals seem to be extremely nerfed cannon fodder, and their loyalties are questionable. Many Bothans died."
As stated previously some maps still need their alignments fixed, it takes some time but we are aware of the issue. Local forces will be getting changed in the future so they won't always be cannon fodder, but as you can tell hasn't happened yet.
Is the Bad Batch going to be added after Order 66? More stealth elite units would be nice.
Since Bad Batch is canon its unlikely, but if our artists made the models I'm sure it could be made into a submod like the MC75 submod for TR.
Thanks again for the the feedback!
Much appreciated Sr. Puertorican, thanks for the response, the fact you guys keep adding stuff is awesome in itself.
