For the Republic, you can recruit one Venator hero, and who you recruit depends on which planet this option is chosen at.
For the CIS, you gain heroes when you merge with your subfactions, each subfaction giving you different heroes.
For both of them, special buildings can be built on certain planets that will give you a chance to get pseudo-heroes at the end of each week depending on your influence.
The unit that they are depends on which planet it's built on, and the influence of that planet determines what Command Tier the unit will give in battle. Tier 5 and 4 are the most common, I believe some very rarely spawn with a Command Tier of 3
Another question - is it possible to get these heroes in the smaller scenarios? Or only the grand campaigns? For example, in Operation Durge's Lance scenario, can I get Anakin or Obi-Wan?
If you are playing the From the Ground Up GC, you will not receive or have the chance to receive any heroes, except for when playing as the CIS, and you will only receive heroes for merging with your subfactions.
Sorry for so many questions, just curious is all!
That can be unique heroes to that GC, a portion of progressive heroes, or (usually) a mix of the two.
They do not have the same mechanics as a progressive. Progressive hero pools are usually a selection of overall relevance and have more conditional stuff for era advancement and events.
Because that's one reason why I don't want to deploy them. Because most of them are weak and can't hold their own for long. Ye I know they aren't immortal nor are they gods. But compared to the risks taken, they don't feel rewarding when used.
Same goes for AI too. If Count Dooku gets killed, his gone. Same with Grievous. And that's just sad. Because without them it just doesn't feel complete. That you just don't fight the seps.
And story-wise if they die and you choose Mon Mothma it should weaken the CIS, if not utterly destroy them. Because that means the Jedi discovered who Palpatine was and even if they'd fail to kill him outright, his grasp on the Republic would be gone either way. After that it would turn into your usual Jedi-Sith wars like in the Old Republic.
What I mean to ask is that could there be at least a sub mod for them to have a countdown when they die?
I actually kinda enjoy the feeling of "♥♥♥♥, I lost Tarkin defending Eriadu before I could push my forces down there," rather than "oh, I lost Tarkin, now I'll need to wait an hour or so to be able to use him again."
Ye I understand. But I am a long time Star Wars fan. And this mod was the missing piece of my life. :D So I want to use these heroes and have them fight 'n' stuff. As it is now, I don't want to deploy them at all. If it can't be implemented in the main mod a sub mod would be fine, if I'm not the only one asking for it ofcourse.
If the problem is that they are free, it could be changed so that you pay for them anyway. And let them have some big unit cap requirement or something. I'm fine with that. Or have them on a long cooldown?
You might have more success making your own post asking about it, the mod team tends to respond to new posts pretty quickly.
u can either download an addon mod that turns back heroes respawn or you can tweak it yourself it is easy look up. it's been so long since i manually edit the xml for it i forget what line and what file but u can easily look it up :] and boom youll have heroes respawn
