For Vegas: Desert Rangers - State Troopers, New Canaan - Mormons, Baron's Republic - Agriculturists, New Reno - Reno, Western Enclave - Old Worlders, Sky Reavers - Area 51, Western Brotherhood - Technophiles. Feel like House's ideas for puppet names would be references to the Old World, 1-2 word summaries of them.

Here are some chapters for any Brotherhood of Steel puppets:

Caesar's Legion - Arizona Chapter
Arroyo - Cascadia Chapter
Valle Bandits - Baja Chapter

Puppets for Heaven's Gate could be named after Archdioceses (For big nations) and Dioceses (For smaller nations), since that's how ecclesiastical provinces are organized by churches. For example:
Caesar's Legion: Archdiocese of Arizona/ Flagstaff
Random tribe: Diocese of (Capital Name)

I was thinking that 'Territory' would work better than 'State' for the NCR in the same vain of the United States Terretories since they are somewhat independant, but are not directly part of of the nation. Like Boneyard Territory or New Vegas Territory. Maybe the same can be done for the Rio Grande?

With the BoS nations I think something like Protectrate could work well since it sounds like it could fit with their pseudo knightly order thing. Like the Protectorate of Vegas, and Californian Protectrate. But other nations that are more technologically advanced could be chapters. Like the Arrayo Chapter and Shi Chapter.

Honestly, I choose State because it's a nice middle ground to name a Colony. They are dependent and controlled by NCR, sure, but they are not a Puppet nor an Integrated Puppet. At some point in the future, when I finish at least 8 nations I focused on, I want to also add renames based on Autonomy, like what Skip has in her Puppet Overhaul.

For example with the same NCR, she has Free State - New California Brotherhood, Protected State - Western California State and Unincorporated Territory with Incorporated Territory - Western California Territories. It's neat and I really like it, but I have more than enough workload as it is right now, no need to overstrech and burn myself out of this mod

For the WashBoS, something like thrall or acolyte might be good for their puppets, since they have a dark, semi-occult thing going on.

Thralls and acolytes does sounds good, a nice template too. Accolyte sound like something more integrated than thrall, like a Puppet instead of a Colony, maybe even an Integrated Puppet

Jokes aside, it is a good name for a Dominion-level tribe autonomy. Show that it's a conqured territory, but not yet properly 'civilized' for it to be called a State

And give raider fractions name as territory, because they don't have traditions of goverment, as civilized nations.

Won't exatly work. Sure, you could do California with NCR and Arizona with Legion, but it woudn't look right otherwise.
