Question about Cloaking Device
I rushed the ascension perk for the cloaking device. I received a message that I could now research the cloak, but it never seems to come up as a research option.

I have done two playthroughs until 2280 both as the Romulans and the Gorn, but haven't been able to research the cloak. I am at around 9900 on the physics tech tree. I expected to find it by now.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am running the old 3.14 version of the mod.

You need to go into the situation log and click "acquire cloaking device" or whatever it says, it takes 750 days but no research.

Personally I think it's a needless step, it would be better if the mod devs just added the tech once you pick the ascension perk.

Thank you. I finished my playthrough and figured it out. I found that the best way to accomplish it is to finish the covert operations tree then switch to the discovery tree to unlock additional research options. That way the rare tech (cloaking device) has more of a chance to be a selection.
