Suggestion: The Borg Temporal Incursion should start with advanced technology
The Borg Temporal Incursion should start with 24th century technology, and a huge advantage over the surrounding civilizations who should have Enterprise-era technology. Would it be an unbalanced start? Yes! But in-universe, the Borg who *came from the future* certainly would have had an advantage. I think the primary challenge of playing this faction should be dealing with the Borg who are already present during the events of First Contact.

You do have a pretty big advantage with the assimilated Sovereign class.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't found it to be much of an advantage, frankly. Usually after a few years, right before I get to the point where I could realistically invade the Vulcans, or another federation founder, they gang up on me. I've kinda given up, so now I'm playing the regular Borg again.

I tried using console commands to speed up my research to compensate, but they didn't seem to work.

If I'm approaching this faction the wrong way, would you mind giving me some pointers? It's very compelling, I just haven't been able to find a workable strategy.

All that said, this mod is freaking amazing, thanks for making it!

Would you mind making the tech IDs available, or telling me where in the mod files I can find them? I'd like to try to achieve a viable playthrough with console commands (such as effect give_technology = tech_some_tech_id). Currently, this faction is, in my opinion, just not any fun.

Nevermind, I found them. I do wish you were a bit more open to this suggestion. Have you played this faction yourself? It doesn't feel right. In First Contact, the Borg had 24th century technology, and it's quite strange to call a faction a "temporal incursion" when they have the same technology as the surrounding civilizations. And, as previously stated, the assimilated Enterprise-E is only marginally helpful. As it stands, I'm going to have to write my own script to add these techs when the BTI begins the game. I of course won't publish that script (it will be for my own personal, private use only. I'm not a streamer, so no one else will even ever see it. Please don't get mad at me :) ), but if you decide you want to update this faction to have more lore-accurate starting technology, let me know. I'd be happy to provide the script to you when it's done.

I was going to comment that at least my own fiddling with them when the Borg Temporal Incursion were added in was that the assimilated Enterprise E is barely worth keeping around, and usually got splatted in my first war with a neighbor.

i mean maybe if we could salvage it and gain the tech to build sovereign class ships? Not sure if anything else would work without breaking the game.
