My assumption is that the prisoner will be released and the decision for the character would be, "Now that you have been released from prison where you were forced to convert, what do you do?" In that case, I think it would be much less likely for the character to turn to their old religion as a secret religion (unless of course they are vassalized by their imprisoner). Maybe the right thing to do would be to trigger the event after release from prison (if possible, need to take a look at it) instead of arbitrarily after one year. Then it simulates an ex-prisoner freely making a decision about what to do with their imposed faith.
