Stopping Enemies From Being Bullet Sponges?
So the issue I'm having is enemies will be injured fairly quickly, like normal (2-3 shots to the chest with even a pistol at close range) but as soon as they're injured (on the ground, able to be revived) it will take 1 or 2 entire magazines to finally kill them, regardless of what part of the body the shots are focused at. I don't know if they're intentionally given a health boost to make reviving easier or if this is just a full-on glitch but is there ANYTHING I can do to minimize/prevent this, like tweaking certain settings or files? The only relevant mod I have installed is ACE No Medical by Stef

Antistasi is my main reason for playing Arma but it just gets incredibly frustrating when I'm trying to clear an area and need to quickly double-tap enemies, only for Bootstrap Bill to force me to waste an entire 7.62 mag on him alone, at point blank.

If we have effected this (I can't say for sure as I am not familiar with the entire codebase) then the only way to change it would be to look in the code and edit it for yourself.

If you have ACE medical enabled you might wanna look at the settings regarding the AI. Certain settings allow instant AI death on fatal injuries while others prolong it.

Okay, I was able to tweak the settings so now the AI takes a realistic amount of damage before dying, the only issue I'm having now is that I can't figure out how to disable perma-death for my own character. Instead of the ususal DBNO state that the player would normally enter, my character goes unconcious before dying, leaving restarting the mission my only option.

That is a normal function of ACE and you should be able to respawn from this unconcious state.

If you bring teammate AI (And turn on AI medicing from the Y menu) they should attempt to heal you if they are able.

But that's the issue I'm having. When I get shot now, my character collapses/starts to black out but the usual "There are no friendly AI nearby to heal you. Press 'R' to respawn" message doesn't show up, nor will pressing "R" anyway respawn my character. He just eventually bleeds out and I'm taken to the mission failed screen,

If it makes any difference, I uninstalled the ACE No Medical mod and reinstalled the original ACE and ACEX mods.

If it goes to mission failed then you must be playing in SP.
We don't support playing in single player, play in LAN host and the base arma respawn system should work fine.

Glad it got sorted out for you chief, but this is definitely better with friends or other players.

Oh I'm sure it is, I just can't convince any of my friends to even buy Arma, let alone learn how to play it. I also don't take it seriously enough where I feel like I'd fit in with any community groups.

Ah, fair I guess. If you want I could add you with my guys. There is only 11 of us and we don't do much actual organized stuff, but we do run antistasi campaigns every so often and other nonsensical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Just message me if you are interested, cause it feels kinda wrong to leave some sort of ad/link here lmao.
