Hey, I've had a couple of people ask me about helping out, and some have already contributed parts which I probably wouldn't have gotten around to for a long time, if ever, alone (like the German localization). Help with these sorts of things is very much appreciated.

I thought I would put this topic up so that;
-I can list the sorts of things that would be of use / are low priority for me at the moment
-This can be a central spot for any discussion about user contributions

So, the main things which I will not be getting around to for a while (either because I lack the skills/language to do so, or because they are largely cosmetic and best left for last);
-Localization files - there are not going to change too much, though there will be a few new lines once the 'Light' hull is added
-Artwork - this is more or less going to stay the same for now - its largely an interim solution, ideally I would like to move to something more stock-like in appearance (font in particular)

would you be interesting in a list of country-specific technology names (IE replacing 406mm early 8-gun main battery with 16"/45 Mark 1 for US and 41 cm/45 type 3 for japan)

I have a list of some modules already (mainly US/Japan, and some for UK/GER). While I won't say no to help with it, I can't guarantee that it wont be atleast slightly duplicated effort.

Would you like help in designing AI historical ships? i love this mod but it can be lacking because the AI doesn't seem to make newer or better ships, historical or not.

AI is what I am working on at the moment, but if you want to take a look through them and suggest improvements, feel free. Currently Japan has the best AI for ships up to CA's, and will get BB/SHBB/BC/CV today. After that Im gonig to update the generic designs with things I learned from doing Japan and then move to the USN.

German Navy Stuff:

Some general Information: Germany used secundary guns (15cm) on battleships and on the Panzerschiff-Deutschland Class,Heavy Anti-Air on Heavy Cruisers, Battleships and Panzerschiff 10,5cm this can be considerd as Dual Purpose gun and light Anti-Air motsly 2 cmand 3,7 cm guns.
Light Cruisers had 8,8 cm guns as Heavy Anti-Air.

German 12,7cm guns had 12,8 cm diameter in reality.

L/XX is the barrel lenght in caliber

Cruisers:
Emden

8x 15cm L/45 C/36 used on CL Emden (single mounts)
3x Flak 8,8 cm L/45 replaced with 3x 10,5 cm C/32 in 1944 (single mounts)

Königsberg Class

9x 15 cm SK C/25 (L/60) one source called it Sk 15 cm L/60 (the single gun, not the mount)
mounted in Drh. LC/25 (triple turrets)
2x Flak 8,8 cm L/76 dual mount on Königsberg
3x Flak 8,8 cm L/76 dual mount on Köln and Karlsruhe

Leipzig Class


9x 15 cm SK C/25 (L/60) one source called it Sk 15 cm L/60 (the single gun, not the mount)
mounted in Drh. LC/25 (triple turrets)
3x Flak 8,8 cm L/76 dual mount on Leipzig
4x Flak 8,8 cm L/76 dual mount on Nürnberg

M-Class

4x 15-cm-SK C/28 L/55 perhaps in Drh. LC/40 (dual turrets)

Admiral-Hipper Class

4x 20,3 cm SK C/34 (L/60) on Admiral-Hipper Class Heavy Cruisers in the Drh. L C/34 (dual turret)

12x 10,5 cm S.K. L/65 C/33 on Admiral-Hipper Class Heavy Cruisers in Typ C/31 (dual mount)



Pre-dreadnoughts:

2x SK 28,0 cm L/40 in two dual mounts

17 cm SK L/40 guns max 14 casemated

were the ship has 5 casemated guns per side from 1937

but i found no source that clearly stated 17cm guns were used at that point

just like the casemated gun data the AA complemt data are unreliable, in video fotage of the Westerplatte bombardment tracer of fast firing guns are visible so some 2 cm AA guns are possible.

For the heavy AA 8,8 cm as well as 10,5 cm were described.

Panzerschiffe:
6x 28 cm SK C/28 (L/52) Triple turrets
8x 15 cm SK C/28 L/55 in MPL C/28 mount (single mount)
3x 10,5 cm S.K. L/65 C/33 in dual mount !!! some sources claime that Deutschand had only 3 guns guns of that type !!!!

Battleships:
28 cm SK C/34 (L/54,5) in triple mounts
15 cm SK C/28 L/55 in MPL C/35 mount ( two single mounts)
2x 15-cm-SK C/28 L/55 in dual Drh LC/34 turrets for Scharnhorst and Gneisenau with 14-3 cm armour

38 cm SK C/34 (L/52) mounted in Drh.L. C/34e turrets

2x 15-cm-SK C/28 L/55 in dual Drh LC/34 turret for Bismarck and Tirpitz with 10-2 cm armour.

Destroyers and Torpedoboats,Minesweepers,AA-Ships and other smaler Vessels:

12,7 cm SK C/34 (L/45) most german pre war destroyers (type 1934,1936 and 1936 B)

12,7 cm SK C/41 (L/45) planned for Z 46 and Z47 Dual purpose gun
planned for Types 36C, 41, 42C and Zerstörer 1945 as twin mounts called Drh LC/41

10,5 cm Ubts,u,Tbts.K. L/45 on Type 23 Topedo Boats (Möwe-class) in Tbts LC/16 mount not capable for AA fire all with (-10 to +50 degree elevation)

10,5 cm Flak L/45 (-5 to +70 degree elevation) sometimes mounted in MPL C/30 mount with (-9 to + 80 degree elevation)



Submarines:
Type VII
8,8cm SK C/35 (L/45) some Boats got 10,5 cm guns after refits
Type IX
10,5 cm SK C/32 (L/45) in Utof mount

that gus were used on Topedoboats too

Light Anti-Air:

3,7 cm L/83 Fla-MK (3.7 cm SK C/30 in english sources)
2 cm L/64 Fla-MK ( 2 cm SK C/30 in english sources)

3,7 cm Flak M42 (L/69)
2 cm C/38 (L/65) one barrel of the 2 cm Flak Vierling

4 cm Flak 28 (L/56) (the german version of the 40 mm Bofors) single mounts were used on german the Schnellbote one source claimed the 3,7 cm guns on Prinz Eugen and Admiral Hipper were replaced with the 4cm guns

I don't know if this classifies as helpful but maybe we should set up a topic that for Naval Rework 2 cover submods, addons, compatability patches/version mods, and anything in general meant to be used or can be used in conjunction with NR2, just saying having a corner with that would be good.

Also a request corner that either the author of NR2 or other modders could respond to requests from the growing NR2 community would also make it better than perhaps ask it in the mod comments in both cases if it is something that takes more than 1000 letters basically.

Guns I think Im pretty well sorted on, though I wouldn't mind a second opinion. FCS, Radar, Sonar, etc. would be very helpful. For reference, here's what the Radar tiers mean in US equivalents, if its of use to match them up with;

Hey there - just wanted to pick your brain! Love the work you've done here, I haven't modded since HOI3 days so wanted to ask your experience. I'm super keen to make a Plane designer for MTG but am only at concept stages for now. Based on your experience making this mod, do you think it's possible? Or does it look like its only hard-coded to ships atm?

@elouda above there was posted a list of stuff for germany. Last time i checked the mod there are german guns "missing". 381mm instead of 380mm, 127mm instead of 128mm, 152mm instead of 150mm ect ect ect. since the guns are nearly the same, the stats could stay the same. My question would be if you did something codewise or shall i try to do it and give you the new files
