Rock Spawning Deep Water Bug
Hey Everyone,

First, let me say I have no clue how to mod or fix mods, I'm just creating this thread as per the mod maker's request in the bug report. If you are having issues from this bug, feel free to gather around and share what's going on and your Github file.

Does your colony look like this? https://gyazo.com/0b5a806f98cd5078767e5249d8f76706
Then this is the right place for you.

Currently, it seems that this bug is happening on all biome types and map sizes (from my testing). It seems when you load up a world, you will notice there are no plants or trees, just brown dirt. After that, a large FPS drop will occur as the stone formation will start to spawn deep water from tiles next to it up until the whole map is flooded and all of your colonists are forced out of the map. This will leave you with a game over message.

This MAY be caused by the tides system, I'm not sure yet. It also seems that spawning on Sea Ice at the very top of the world where the ice meets the ocean. It seems that spawning here causes deep water to spawn and start to eat your colony from the ocean.

It seems that speed on the game clock nor if there is any water tiles on the map originally doesn't affect the spread/occurance of this. It DOES seem thatt caverns do not fill up with water as like the rest of the map.

Here is my latest Github file, with a clean & fresh install of Rimworld with only Terra Project and Hubslib running:

Let me know if there's anything else I can provide or am missing from my description!

Great descriprion, I would add these:
Infested Mountains do not fully flood, just few tiles.
Tidal islands flood as Deep Marsh.
In arctic it freezes over instantly.

I tried it with a fresh installation and deleting the RimWorld folder under AppData/LocalLow.
Using Only Terra the flooding still takes place in every situation I tried. Can't give a log for reference but it really seems to be a Terra related issue.
Wish I had mod options to disable certain systems to test the systems themselves :(
Can't wait for the fixed version though!

I am so sad that I experience this.
This mod has the potential to become an essential!

I can confirm that this occurred in a temperate forest with a river running through. No trees and my FPS tanked from 60 down to ~11-12 as rocks started flooding the map.

Same issue here too.

I also have the same issue... I really want to use the mod but if it keeps happening then unfortunately I wont.

hey, I wanted to ask whether you would be speaking for the dev of this mod from now on.

No, I'm not the Dev. I'm sure they're busy right now, and this is just a mod. If asked if I would be the Dev by them, I would also say no because I have no clue about modding, scripting, and coding. Sorry! :tabbycat:

no need to apologise, and I wasn't really asking you to relay a message or anything, I was just curious on wether you would be something...well, for lack of better terms, like a PR manager lol
same problem, colonists get trapped unter mountains or inside building after the water spawning...

i think happens to me too.... the whole map floods.

I am having the same issue. So frustrating.

Its strange, I've had games where it only happens when I LOAD them after having played for a while (Other times right from the getgo) - I'm thinking it may be due to an error encountered somewhere and it then "defaults" to flood logic instead of what I would assume should have been "do nothing"

Is there an updated repository (if you don't mind us having a poke at your code ofcourse) - The one on github seems to be back from july

i have to add that this bug does NOT happen in the cave biomes, meaning Cave Entrance, Cave System and Cave Oasis. I think it has to do with the height of the normal tiles, compared to the height of the Cave. Modmaker, please fix
