So I love elevator source and I play it often. It has excellent replay value to me. Anyways, I see comments on the game mode very often such as "can't move, can't see, missin textures" etc. So I'll tell you how to fix every problem you may have that can ruin the game mode. How to fix the not moving or can't see problem: First off, make sure you have the game mode selected. If you don't know how to do this you might have less than 30 minutes played on the game but anyway, go to the bottom right where it says sandbox or whatever mode you have selected and then click elevator source. After you do that, find the elevator source map. Don't play it though. On the top right you may see a green singe player button. Click that and pick 2 players. That should fix that. That also SHOULD fix the elevator not starting problem if you're experiencing that. There's also a stupid bug when you hit that shore flore with the gentleman with the floaty, you'll hear that very annoying shore noise with the water and birds. Once you leave the floor the ocean sound will still loop and its quite annoying. The fix: go to the console and type in sv_cheats 1 then press enter. Then type "stopsoundscape" without the " sign obviously. Then wait for that sound loop to stop and it shouldn't come back up again. If you have another problem comment below and I might be able to fix it. ALSO KEEP IN MIND SOME TEXTURES REQUIRE HALF LIFE 2 EPISODE 2. But anyway enjoy the gamemode!
