Advanced Vehicle Options
Public Transport Not Picking Up Passengers
Hello All.

I have a rather frustrating issue where my public transit is not picking up any passengers, or picking up less than half of capacity. I read on a forum that the Advanced Vehicle Options mod could be the issue. My city has a population of 277,000 cims, so it is quite frustrating that trains that can hold 500 cims are only picking up 150 or 200 cims. There are over 6000 cims at the train station queuing, but only 220/500 are loading onto the train.

Is there any fix for this?

This is potentientally behavior, as the Cims have planned their travels already. It takes some time for the simulation to adapt to changes done to specific parameters. The game knows, that a specifc vehicle has 10 spots to travel. If a change happens, the 10 spots are reserved, but the game does not see that there is now e.g. 30 spots. This will eventually happen in some time in the future, after the travelling Cims are recaluclated. It can be also, that the Cim does not want to travel a specifc vehicle, because the simulation assigns the Cims a lifecycle, which are also calculated on day of time etc.

It is not an issue with AVO, but it is based on how the game is programmed.

Thank you so much! Could it be the fact the public transit is modded? So, for example, vanilla is 30 seats but I changed it to 75?

Yes, it can be, that there is a mod interference. It also takes always some time, until new calculations have reached all Cims. AVO e.g. can change the size of airlplanes, and this can take up to 20min until all game instances have been replaced.
