[WOTC] Mechatronic Warfare: Total SPARK Overhaul

Bug Reporting
Post any and all bug reports here - I'd prefer to keep the main comments section free for balance feedback and other suggestions.

If you can, please try regenerating your config files and see if that fixes the problem. To do this, delete this folder:
Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config
DONE! Start up the game and most problems should be solved right then and there.

If your problem is related to the mod's schematic merges, set the config option SPARK_OVERRIDE_INVENTORY in XComUpdateSpark.ini to true, and then load a save. It should deposit SPARK items to your inventory if you own their respective squad items. More detailed explanation is in the config file.

If you are completely out of options and nothing works, and have an hour to spare, try this:

First, refresh your configs. Refer to the bug reporting thread's top post on how to do that. Second, go to MW's XComUpdateSpark.ini and make sure all the settings are set to true.

Then make sure you have console enabled (google it), open the game with only MW and it's requirement mods. Use the command "UISpawnScreen UIShell" on the main menu to go into debug mode. Click the Strategy button then Strategy Debug Start. Skip the starting cutscenes and you'll be right in the Avenger. Now use the commands (without quotes):
"GiveTech MechanizedWarfare"
"GiveTech PlatedArmour"
"GiveTech MagnetizedWeapons"
"GiveTech GaussWeapons"
"GiveTech AutopsyAndromedon"
Save your game and call the file "DEBUGGING" or something obvious.

Now go to engineering or the proving grounds or wherever and see if your problem is fixed. It SHOULD work this first time, because you only have MW enabled. If it doesn't, your game is seriously screwed up. If it works, then add five more mods and load this save to repeat the process until you find which mod is screwing it up. Some mods may require you to do an entirely new campaign, in which case you'll need to make a new one instead of just loading that save we made. Try the ones that don't require a campaign restart first.

This whole thing is going to be tedious, but it is almost guaranteed to find you the culprit.

@goDelimS no, that's a bug I reported last year. Sadly it still hasn't been fixed, guessing it's a complicated issue
Great to hear about the fix to the multiple Teamwork button problem!

@goDelimS, curious about what are you referring to with "the upgrades for the SPARK units seem to separated for me again"?
@SupremeMorpheus - Ok still good to hear Im not the only one xD

@Bardmaster - I mean I got the "Squad" Upgrade in Engineering both for the SPARK Chassis and for the normal Predator Armor which should upgrade the SPARK aswell. (But it does not)

The normal SPARK Armor upgrade should be hidden because it upgrades automatically with the Predator Armor.

Like I said the mod updated one day after I started a new campaign so maybe something with the schematics creation process went wrong.

I tried getting the Helix Rifle and Predator Armor upgrades for my SPARK, but... uh. Yeah, much like the rest of you it seems, it seems as though the SPARK isn't getting the upgraded gear that it should be.

Sorry for the silence on the schematic merge issue everyone, I remember being absolutely baffled the last time I tried to tackle it. I'll take another look this week if I have time.
@NotSoLoneWolf - Yea I heard that the schematics for modding are somewhat finicky in general so take your time. No Rush. 😊
Getting an error stating. "Error Detected Attemping Load of Package: Mechatronic Warfare"

Currently using AML to launch the game. No conflicts or anything placed either.

The only thing I can think of that would cause that is you missing the Community Highlander mod, so check for that first. If you do have it enabled and it still crashes, then try refreshing your configs as described in the top post here, then launch the game with only MW and it's required mods, nothing else.

Don't worry. It wasn't anything with AML. I didn't have all the DLC. Specifically "Shen's Last Gift", to unlock sparks in the first place. After purchasing it everything seems to be working better now. As well as other mods working better too..

tl'dr, Just get all the DLC so stuff doesn't break.

Good news, I believe I finally found the issue with the schematic merges!!! Bad news, the cause was so insanely stupid, what was 2018 me thinking. Hotfix incoming!
So , I just tried using the Supernova ability for the first time

And while the animation looks awesome , my spark instead of jumping on the roof of a broken building and then jumping down inside to go to the inteded destination for uh.. Radiating
it instead opted to just stop at the wall it was supposed to jump up at and trigger supernova there

So ye , it was funny the first time but not that much anymore once I really needed that to take out a omega berserker ^^'

Today I sent my Spark to punch Warlock, thus granting him cover (I keep forgetting this is a thing). Spark got shot on enemy turn, used up it's sustain, then on my next turn I tried moving only to have it gunned down by overwatch fire after half a step.

Bad move on my part, but the odd thing came next when I tried to shoot the Warlock only to realize that he still gets high cover despite his "cover" now being thin air where once my Spark stood. I imagine this might be some issue with how Bulwark effect used works and thus is unfixable, but figured I might as well report it in case it can.

Unfortunately I'm just using the basic Bulwark code made by Firaxis. They apparently never tested what happens when SPARKs die. I guess you can just rationalize it as the Warlock taking cover behind the SPARK's twisted wreckage :P
Small bug - I am getting duplicate datacores sometimes when a Spark is destroyed.
