Mount & Blade: Warband

Lords of Calradia
Bugs & Suggestions
Suggestions

  • Stop Lords from changing factions, or at least allow it to be possible somewhere in settings.
  • Allow villages to have garrisons? As well as villages to be able to be taken separately from a town (only if there is a nearly castle or town)
  • I'd like to see some sort of marriage with claimants, making them useful per say to possibly be able to take over a faction instead of having to create on. Like I'd love to be 'King of Swadia'
  • I'd love to see more stuff with the king and his family, maybe being able to marry their children and possibly have an event where you have a chance to kill the king and become the new king - either the king dies or he declares war on you.
  • Also on top of that, the spouses should have the co-existing titles (baroness, countess, duchess, queen & empress).
  • Perhaps allow a custom tree for player made kingdoms for more uniqueness?
  • Generally more missions, poems & the like, give me spice. I'm happy to help script some in, add me if you're interested.
  • When a pretender takes control you can also reinstate the former monarch.
  • You can marry companions that have been knighted.
  • Formal unions of kingdoms. (if a kingdom is considerably weakened the king will swear vassalage to a larger force in exchange for protection)
  • You can have a daughter with your wife so you can marry her with a lord and improve relations with him.
  • Kings have crowns when inside a town/castle - maybe even the possibility of adding armour with crowns on such.
  • Would be cool if like bannerlord you can have armour outfit & passive clothing outfit - and allow the buying of clothing. Maybe make some clothing of the lords a bit better too.
  • At a feast you can poison a lord, which will incapacitate him for a while. this can be a quest.

I think it would be cool if you have a title given to you for what you own. So:-
    • Owns nothing - not a noble (without banner) - Captain Kyle Beachamp
    • Owns nothing but is a vassal or a noble without tied to a kingdom - Lord Kyle Beachamp
    • Owns a village - Baron Kyle Beachamp
    • Owns a castle - Count Kyle Beachamp
    • Owns a town - Duke Kyle Beachamp
    • Has their own kingdom - King Kyle Beachamp
    • Owns all of Calradia - Emperor Kyle Beachamp (or perhaps a certain amount of land, like half of calradia)

    Bugs

    • Something I've seen is that newly weds get the title of countess but already existing wives don't.
    • The bandit issue needs sorting ASAP - literally only a couple hours in and you can see groups of 40-50 bandits, and they sometimes roam around in 2 or 3 parties so you could potentially face anything from 50-200 bandits, and it is well, stressful.
    • Sometimes castle and town sieges are locked into 'taking the castle' where a spam of text keeps displaying that 'X kingdom has taken X castle from X kingdom' - the spam can go on for anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes. The castle has no garrison when the kingdom takes such - it just gets stuck with the said fief transferring into the besieging kingdom.
    • You don't gain right to rule when you make peace with a kingdom.
    • Mercenaries don't run off to fight random bandits, that gets annoying fast.
    • Changing of the court is bugged - just doesn't allow it to happen, just says you don't have the required materials.

I'm pretty sure you can hold festvels for your fiefs just like the lords, if the prosperity is low enough.

I haven't seen anything like that but that would make sense if that is the case
On top of this, after a bit more playing, it seems the rhodoks are a little overpowered comparing to the other factions
The misson to train native troops for a lord still exist

Another suggestion:
I managed to become the lord of Jelkala but raising troops from the town still took forever despite it being rich. Maybe towns and castles should train troops faster or in a bigger quantity so it makes more sense recruiting from them.

Yeah and only being able to recruit Rhodok troops when I'm a Nordic lord can be a little frustrating, maybe towns can recruit the starting faction's troops and the conquering faction's troops as well, as a choice for the lord. For example, if the Swadians captured Sargoth, you could recruit Swadian and Nordic troops from it.

Towns train the higherst quantity, then villages then castles. Castles have the highest quality troops then towns then villages, you can hold festivals in your villages when the prosperity is extremely low. It takes a while for fiefs to increase their recruitable pop that is intentional to make battles more important, and make it more difficult for Lords to recover I might tweek it in the future but changes will be minimal.
@Captain Obvious thanks for the bug reports. You have some really good ideas, hopefully I can get to some of them.

No Problem, I'll keep bugs and ideas rolling when I see/think of them

Troops should now be assigned to the right class as of 0.1 I'm may have missed some but I think I got the majority.

maybe make it so that the player can be a king from the start?
Also Vlad, a quite major issue I'm seeing with starting with the renown to automatically become a vassal is that your renown is so high that you can't get missions from other lords (rarely) to further increase your renown and relation with said Lord. This may be the reason that there are so many bandits at the start of the game (because I think that bandits and deserters are based off your renown number). I'll add it to the list as well as crossing out the solved bugs.

I don't like the idea of starting as a king at all, it takes the fun out of working your way up from the bottom. Possibly as a start up option but defiantly not the only one.

I saw your response, so I'll put it here for yo to think over more :)
Would like ability to have my wife join my warband with my kids.

Why would you want your wife in your party? Surely it would be better and safer if she stayed in your castle and be able to use all the features with her.

Because I want a Battle Family, like Band of Celtic/Gaelic warriors. Where woman & men fought together. Eventually all the family fought together. Even the Spartan woman were trained to fight.

Back in those days I am sure that recruits were more than plentyful. I would like to see at least a minimum of 50-75 recruits offered. Yes I also think that there are too many bandits as the game grows. 200+ banddits are too many unless you allow for bigger armies in the Lords' command.
