There are only two ways of installing Real Time. The simple way to install Real Time is to subscribe to this item on Steam Workshop. You need a Steam account and a purchased Cities: Skylines game.

The second and more comprehensive way is to manually build Real Time from its source code.

Using any of these two ways, you will not get any problems using the mod. If you downloaded Real Time binaries somewhere else and try "installing manually", then please refer to that website. Maybe they can answer your questions.

Is there any way of geting this to work on my Origin version?

I'm also hoping that some day I'll be able to get this on my Switch version also .... but I'm not holding my breath. :-)

Thanks for all the work you have put into this. It's really a great mod. Much appreciated.

Real Time doesn't require players to be online, if you're asking about that.

Hello Dymanoid! Real Time looks like an amazing mod but unfortunately, I find myself in the same situation as the OP.
I am unable to install the mod via the Steam Workshop as I do not have it from Steam.
I've tried installing this mode to both CitiesSkylines\Files\Mods as well as Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Mods but neither has worked successfully.
I've tried installing from source as you mentioned with Visual Studio according to this tutorial video but it doesn't appear in my mod list.

I would appreciate any help you can provide as I am eager to try this mod out!

Real Time is published here, on Workshop. I cannot support you if you don't use Workshop, sorry.

I guess you may have your reasons, but honestly it would'nt cost you much to release an unsuported "workshop check" less version of your mod for users who bought the game on other stores.
Maybe I didn't dig far enough to see why it may be difficult to do so, but as far as I know, I could compile it to bypass this check without a single problem. :minmatar:

What a shame. I bought the game on Epic Games, not Steam. All the other mods I've found work fine, but not this one.

How do I get it to run from a local install then? Steam workshop makes the game crash if I try to open it offline, so I use skyve to make all my mods install as local copies

This is the only mod to have a check like this. Is there a config setting or smth to skip the check?
