Anbennar: A Fantasy Total Conversion
The best patch for the eunuch setting
The current eunuch settings in mods are simply stupid, absurd, and ridiculous. Removing reproductive functions does not lead to high academic achievements, let alone a mortality rate as high as three-quarters or even nine-tenths. What kind of school would admit talents by first killing nine-tenths of the freshmen? This is not a selection for special forces.

The biggest problem with the entire eunuch setting lies in where their power comes from and why anyone would voluntarily become a eunuch. It's not even that the impoverished masses become eunuchs for food; instead, it's the sons of the noble class who choose to be eunuchs. In reality, the power of eunuchs stems from the emperor. Eunuchs are often the most loyal royalists, and assassinating the emperor is almost unheard of. Moreover, in real life, eunuchs are either family members implicated due to being prisoners of war or major criminals, or poor people who volunteer for food.

In this mod, where does the power of eunuchs come from? Knowledge? Institutions? These are all unstable factors. Regarding knowledge, what the noble class lacks least is books, while the poor only hope to have enough to eat. Eunuchs clearly don't need any profound academic level. As for institutions, for eunuchs without descendants, any system will lead to the instability of their power inheritance. Over time, the "eunuch families" (let's put it this way) will gradually be replaced by normal families, rather than existing stably. The elf empire has collapsed for hundreds of years, yet the eunuchs still remain, which is really puzzling.

However, we have other settings that can be utilized. The position of eunuchs is undoubtedly based on ancient China with some elements from fantasy works mixed in. And there is an area modeled after Chinese martial arts right next door (although it's a bit strange to have all the martial arts sects together). So why don't we incorporate "The Sunflower Manual"?

"The Sunflower Manual" is a very famous martial arts technique in Chinese martial arts novels, and only eunuchs can cultivate it. It's impossible for normal men and women.

Moreover, this manual is extremely powerful. Those who cultivate it will gain superhuman strength. After incorporating "The Sunflower Manual", all the above problems will be solved. The power of eunuchs now comes from strength rather than some strange academic level or institutional advantages.

The problem of stable inheritance can also be resolved because those who cultivate "The Sunflower Manual" to the end can be restored to their original state. That is to say, eunuch leaders can achieve power inheritance. Even if they can't, they have enough lifespan to train the successors they desire. And for the sake of power, the successors will surely choose to become eunuchs.

Furthermore, considering that in reality, eunuchs generally have a longer lifespan, they can be made into a long-lived race.

After all, this is a world with magic. Adding such a setting won't seem out of place.

Here are my personal ideas on how to incorporate this into the mod.

Firstly, eunuchs can be set as a special culture or a special religion, with the corresponding tag. Rulers with this tag will have their expected lifespan increased by 100 years. Additionally, a unique political system exclusive to the eunuch nation will be unlocked. For eunuch kings, it can be set that they were not eunuchs before having children. After having children, in pursuit of power, they choose to become eunuchs. Each ruler can decide whether to become an eunuch before taking office. Of course, some restrictions need to be removed. After all, not becoming an eunuch means going against tradition.

P.S.: Using culture can better reflect the differences between eunuchs and other humans after development. However, I think this might be too special, considering that eunuchs may not only be human. Using religion might be a better option.
