Does someone have a good prospecting idea that doesnt involve save-scumming?

What i have found out so far is that Mithradum gets a roughly 50% increased chance for mithril, meanwhile adventurers get roughly +100%. So to me it seems it is best to stay adventurer for as long as possible, get expansion ideas first and to abandon caverns if it gets the wrong trade good at 400 pop.

Any other ideas?
