Europa Universalis IV
Anbennar: A Fantasy Total Conversion
Your thoughts on Anbennar
While I may have a relative negative view as of now for personal reasons, let's not bugger up this mod by it's flaws, this is not a hatemail - after all this is a well made mod. Instead, why not post different positives we can find within the mod? What are your favourite features this mod presents?

I can start!

My favourite thing about this mod is powerful Dragons. While never playable at any point, I still do like the featuring of powerful dragons in the lore. I am as simple as that.

I like the map, its just alien enough to be interesting but familiar enough to be comparable to europe. Also the new religion system is great, however the devs might have to start making their own faith systems from scratch instead of repainting already existing ones in game
I really like this mod. The lore is incredibly well thought out in my opinion, and is DEFINATELY like playing through a entire fleshed out fantasy novel.

I love the lore and most of the more important countries are well fleshed out, however there are one or two flaws like the religions and the lack of flags for alot of nations.

Other than that I like this. Can't wait to see what else is added.
It's ok, I guess. 4/5.
I quite like it. I've been hoping for a good total conversion mod for EU4 for a long while, and the fantasy setting is nice. I love the detail in the regions that exist so far. The Castellyr area is really nice.
I love it. I like it more than the normal game for the most part. The game map is really designed to make it the best game possible. It is like the game was made to fit the game mechanics better than the game mechanics fit the historical world. My largest complaint though is that so many nations still have the same generic flag. Hurry up and get flags for all the countries, even if they are very basic flags. Just do something with them.
@Cyborgsgaming I have to disagree, incomplete flags are annoying but if basic flags are created they may end up becoming permanent flags. I would rather have more interesting flags than tons of placeholders. I do think the Orcs and Goblins really need a flag rework/work. The Orc/goblins should have some pretty mean looking flags and currently their flags don't really look any different.

I really like how different all the races and idea groups are. Played in the east as an adventurer that restored the old human empire then became EoA and eradicated the Regent Court Heresy and then revoked the privilegia (wish this had new names and mechanics). Then I played as Nimscodd and the game is so different. Immortality, republic mechanics, no ruler mages, trade and colonization actually being important.
i love 2 things about this mod
1. the idea that elves arent some ancient cut off race in some deep forest (except when they are) but are refugees escaping from a continent that sufered a cataclysm

2. is the 4 way divide of the land the brutish but civilized Gawed. Refined lords of lorent and their romanticized knights. Divided but barely united Anbennar empire trying to reform their former glory. last but not least the diffrent bands of orcs and adventurers trying to create their own Empires in the East.

i just hope will be developed for the years to come it has so much potential it would be heartbreaking to see it abandoned
I like that it is (to my knowledge) one of the more unique mods currently existing for EU4. As in it's not just another: "Here's Europe painted slightly differently with maybe some slightly different religions and formable nations."

There's plenty of work to be done still, but there's plenty of potential here.

I also like the lore and hope for more to be added. I'm also a sucker for Harpies.
This mod goes up in the list of mods I have that breath life back into EU4 for me most of the time. This baby here lets me play a fantasy mod in this time-period for once, it feels great and the work put into the mod, the map and the lore just lets this mod be one of the best overhauls you can find.
Without a doubt it is the best mod of eu4 that played so far, I love the universe that the developer created, I love the whole map (especially the recolonization of the eastern lands), the events, the races, the colonization and much more.

I hope they keep updating it because it has a lot of potential.
Elves seem to be a bit crappy same with kobolds. That -50% manpower replenish for elves and barely any discipline or morale for elves hurts
For me, I probably need to wait a year before trying the mod again. There seem to be many nations with decisions and missions that have yet to be implemented, and races like the Dwarves are skin and bones. I love the world, but the creator has a long road ahead to fully flesh it out.
Someone please explain what the blademarchers are, and how I can play as them
@The SpaceManiac play any adventurer in castanor and colonize specific regions in south castanor
I spent a few hours hopping around different nations, reading the national idea tooltips and the text on any unique mission trees. Just reading and learning the lore of this mod was time well spent and entertained, although I admit that I was pissed about learning the humanoid tiger people apparently aren't implemented yet.

The pop, migration, and acceptance system is neat, it feels like M&T's religious minority system but for a third factor rather than religion or culture. It reminds me of my on-and-off-again work on expanding Dawn of Worlds to a Paradox-style game.

I've played through some adventurer and orc missions (cheating, yeah, sue me so I can see stuff), and seeing how they could evolve and change is pretty awesome. Too bad for that Monsterous -100 opinion debuff, I'd love to play as an Orc nation that eventually makes peace with adventurer nations. Too bad we can't have multiple HRE mechanics, I'd love to see a Castal Accord formed.

I wish there was more lore for the Ruin Elves and other 'New World' nations, but I can see stuff is planned. Seeing the devestation in the west, that huge impact-looking crater in the Broken Sea? that was awesome. I was hoping for seeing some modifiers on those islands that would give some hints as to what happened.

This is a great mod. I want more.
