Aquatic Dinos
Has there been much thought given to (other) aquatic dinos? I know much of the more recent (prior to genesis) expansions have all but abandoned ocean content, a lot of what got left behind is grossly inaccurate (plesiosaur actively trying to eat people, being quite large - funny enough it was resized UP late EA to accommodate the platform saddles arrival, and that stupid bubble sound that was added later....ugh) not to mention the Liopleurodon being a massive joke from all angles.

Liopleuradon, Mosa and Icthy have all been resized. Im thinking a large plesiosaur would probably eat a human in the water, no?

Suppose it depends on the headsize, with angler like teeth they dont do much chewing and trying to cart a full sized human through that esophugus sounds like a recipe for 'choked under da sea'.

In earlier EA they were actually much smaller, only reason they made them bigger was for the platform saddles I suspect. Mosa's would be horrifying enough on their own for humans, given we are perfect bite size for those and real ones would come to the surface regularly for air.

Well for now I think I'll let the plesios be larger than life to cater to platform saddles... and that obvious has to come with some taming risk :)

True there is the platform problem, if you make them tiny they probably dont look very sensible (though iv yet to stick a platform on the resized bronto, I assume it looks like the pararacer with a platform). As for risk, well squids my favorite still lol.

I think icthy and plesio would be neutral creatures who attack when provocated,If you want a bigger plesio you can use elasmosaurus for reference.

Been gone a while, was poking around and looking at some of the changes and was curious as to why the liopleuradon can't be tamed? Way wildcard implemented them never sat right with me (temp tames that buff loot? Way not what was hinted at back in the day) but notame strikes me as odd as well.

The main reason was that carnivorous reptiles are both unintelligent and quite aggressive. Like trying to ride a shark. But I suppose I could make it tameable alternative to the ichy.

Honestly a lot of the stuff in Ark would realistically be impossible to tame at least to the point of riding it like a damn horse, but at least ambush predators like that would have some level of guile - real alligators are smart enough to know when its feeding time , and who is feeding them - sometimes even do a trick or two, but they will still eat your head if they are given the option but for the sake of gameplay mechanics we end up with sarcos and such.

Sharks though, yeah those are just really nasty fish - sure my gold fish get super excited when i walk up to the tank, but I don't see them taking directions any time soon. My goldfish also dont growl....thats so dumb.

I will do an updated tomorrow with the liopleuradon tameable.

Also fixing some other things.
