Hey guys, I haven't played Ark in 2 years and it hasn't been recompiled in the devkit since Oct 2023. I have no idea if it works, and as for Ark Ascended... the only way to know is to try but somehow I doubt it.

They use all the same animations as vanilla dinosaurs... they are just scaled smaller (or bigger)

Sorry belated reply. For the level, try creating a new character and using admin cheats to get yourself to L30. Let me know if it still doesn't work (sometimes mods can mess up the XP ramp).

As for enabling map supplies... no .ini command. It's not very realistic :)

Does this work with The Hunted? I've seen people questioning if it does but no yes or no. I'm trying to do Play As Dino: Ultra Realism, but idk if it works...

I just noticed that the DevKit has received an update... so maybe that's the issue. But the code for the Bull Rex is supposed to be very low: I'll take a look at it again and recompile the mod.

I've been playing this mod for a while now and I've noticed a couple things that I would suggest be addressed for future updates. As I understand it, the rex and bull rex share the same spawn but it feels like the bull rex which is untamable spawns 90% of the time on the mountain and vanilla rexes are rare. This makes finding a high level rex tame close to impossible. And just to add frustration the bull rex will kill any vanilla rexes that spawn. The bull rex also drops element which feels imbalanced since they litter the mountain side.

Spinosaurus runs at the speed of a cat. Tyrannosaurus can turn around its axis in 2 seconds. ...What kind of realism are you talking about ? Blocking the domestication of any any means making serious changes to the gameplay of this product itself - you change the very essence of the product. In engineering, there are terms such as "modification" and "design changes" - these concepts are very different. Don't try to unite them.

the rumble of the steps of a large dino is heard only at a distance (in my opinion) ~ 70-100 meters - increasing this parameter ~ 120-200+ (or setting its value) would be one of the true indicators of "realism".

for more than four years, the society of this game has been trampling on the same topic "size" and "realism", but the banal parameter "speed" for wild dino, and the ability to adjust this parameter to their understanding of the speed of a two-ton creature (or more), no modmaker could implement.

Personal desires to see the game the way you want it to be are not the same as "public material". Be able to weigh other people's opinions - thats mod simply needs the ability to flexibly adjust most of the changes that you make.

I really appreciate the spirit of this mod and what its trying to do. One glaring unrealistic part of ark is the Dilophosaurus. It follows the Jurassic Park version and not what it actually looked or acted like. Will there be a revision of the dilophosaurus?

3 Bull T-rexes spawned around the 40, 20 mark on The Island. I think out of 10 T-rexes I saw (in general) as a noob beach bob, only 1 or 2 were not bull. I do not think this should be that way, shouldn't they be more rare? I see more gigas than Rexes. I do not want to change the settings to spawn more dinos nor do I think it's realistic to have to deal with 3 bulls of a solitary apex predator which is a rex. Bulls should fight each other, but instead they gangbang lov-lvl argies and ankylosauruses, it's madness!

I love this mod a lot, but the lack of configuration of disabling certain items is very annoying. Please add configuration, and also I would like to mention the Tropeognathus saddle is like lvl 65 to unlock, so I don't know how that counts as an early flier. Thanks anyways, and I hope to hear back on your thoughts/opinion.

There is a pinned discussion post on INI settings... but no way to enable the pteradon because... realism. :) The argentavis and quetz are available however.

Just updated to the latest devkit 357.1 ... Carcha isn't spawning yet - it's currently resized to be around the same build/damage/speed as a rex but isn't tameable because there isn't a saddle for it and getting the rider pawn to look correct on a spiny back doesn't quite look right.

Haven't tested stone structures breaking from very large dinos yet - maybe the latest devkit fixed it but if somebody notices rex/bronto not being able to damage stone structures please let me know.

Actually the dinos COULD destroy stone.. and also slight damage to metal. But if that no longer works it seems that something chnaged.

I'll take a look at putting it back in.

@ Diego Holls +1. I totally agree. Been looking for a mod that does such, but the only ones I could find change other things in a ridiculous manner. Would be awesome if this mod eventually added that.

@Ben Insanity... no, the modded dinos can't be disabled... BUT if you run that other mod before Realism Plus it should take precedence. P.S. the giganotosaurus is scaled accurately I assure you.

As for the mod files... unfortunately having the modded files won't help because they are the same files you get in the Ark Devkit. The only thing is I have altered the files to create the mod... so you need to understand how to mod different parts of the game otherwise you won't know what I've changed.

It's a great mod ! I love it !
However, I have 2 questions :

1 - It is stackable with ARK Transcendance or not ?
2 - Are you planned to update it (with new dinosaurs (ex : Amargasaurus or Andrewsarchus))?

Is there any way to disable a modded dino? For example, I (In my opinion)feel like the Giganotosaurus is way too small, so I wanted to disable the one in this mod and use the one from Shad's Better Gigas Rebalance in its stead, or overall just replace it and use a vanilla variant? Also, is there any way you could make this open source? This is my absolute favorite and easily the best realism mod on the Steam Market and I would absolutely kill to see how everything in this mod works, as I am a novice/brand spankin' new modder myself and have wanted to see how this kind of mod works. If the answer to any of my questions is a no, that's ok, I just wanted to ask. I love the mod, and keep working!

I would not even know enough to suggest where it should spawn at. I appreciate the input on the Champion settings. (been trying to get my Ark server just right, need to tweak the human npc mod more & also the fortitude is so rough on Fjordur but it's getting there)

Yes, the code should work still... I haven't seen any major change to how the devs do damage and health scaling,.

On another note... I'm just finishing off the Carcha realism conversion. Initially it's probably going to be bareback ridden as their isn't a saddle asset for it.

Any thoughts on what biomes it should spawn in? I'm thinking redwoods, and to allow it to hunt megalosaurus and other large carnivores. Basically, a very bad tempered apex predator. Power wise, it's on par with a Rex but lacks the roar ability. I'm thinking to make it a fast runner also.

@Hades you made a Champion & Veteran config (which may have ended up being this mod) I followed your post from 2015 (90 pages of testing & trials) intently when trying to understand how to make my tamed dinos not so OP & to increase the difficulty a bit. The solution you arrived at was dialing up player & wild dino damage output whilst increasing resistances to match. That is what I am talking about.

@Lilywolf... I think the mod should remain compatible... it would be crazy for Wildcard to do an update that trashed their entire community modding in one go.

@Vicious... best idea is make a game backup and try it. RP only modifies the list existing dinosaurs and items.... other mods can add their own stuff.

Meaning more for the UE5 update that Ark 1 is going to get. There's not a time frame for it yet but mods will probably have to be recooked for it

You mean for Ark 2? Depends on if Wildcard makes a decent PvE/co-op implementation... the last time they tried to create a game (Atlas) it was and is an epic fail.

As for Ark 1... as long as they release devkits, I'll keep re-compiling the mod. So far it seems to have kept working without major re-modding.
