They don't have any real use aside from a source of terror and mayham.
Pteradons are now tame-able but not rideable.
There are no material stat changes other than:
- Allosaurus and Yutyrannus are now similar in damage/health to other medium sized therapods.
- Gigasaurus is a slightly weaker but tougher than Tyrannosaurs.
- Stegosaurus now hits quite harder with its spiked tail.
- Tricerotops is twice as tough.
Anyway, the idea of the mod isn't to need stats to figure out threats... size, shape and spiky bits should be the rule of thumb :)
what I like about this mod is that it doesn't just mean once you get a decent rex and a flyer that you win.. it gives the rest of the dinos some value..
however I did just run into an issue in which my whole server crashed when I rex roared at me.. I will be testing to see if it was just coincidence..
you will lose dinos that are modified.. :(
would it be possible to have a light damage multiplier and damage resistance based on damage it takes (like bloody lust from binding of isaac but weaker and based on damage instead of times hit, if that helps) but still have it throw you off and act hostile when maxed out like vanilla giga
On the same theme, I was thinking about a "panic timer" for herbivores. I've positioned tricerotops and bronotosaurus as solid tanks... and wanted them to be very strong in groups. But having them run in fear after being in combat too long could balance that out and make a new challenging dynamic.
That all said... I'm starting a new job soon and have to hand over future development to someone else. But I wanted toi post here to say it's not only a great idea.. but totally do-able in the ark devkit.
Hopefully a dev (or future modder) hears about the suggestions and does something.
