It should, but it will use freedoom's assets instead of normal doom

It should work, freedoom is just doom/doom2 IWAD with replaced assets and levels.

but for some reason it does not work and it displays doom 2 assets with freedoom maps and missing textures

I just tested, sadly freedoom does not work, I tried to load E0M1, but the map not spawned in properly, only just about ~3-4 wall surfaces appeared (where the UAC logo is), but that's all. 😔

did you rename it to DOOM.wad or something?

@Mememan97A If I remember somewhat correctly, I loaded the materials from DOOM2.wad and levels from the freedoom wad when I tried it. (It was a long time ago.)

yeah, freedoom doesn't work that well unless you know what you were doing. i found the IWADS on the internet archive however and used those instead. not sure if what im doing is illegal or in the grey area.

What do you mean with "freedoom doesn't work that well unless you know what you where doing"? 🤔
My experience so far is: if you load contents from DOOM2.wad and levels from freedoom, it doesn't work that way.

i've had my game crash and tried removing some files with slade, found it crashed my game still and for some reason all the audio files used the pc sound card now and just got doom 2 off archive.org
