Auto Adding
Hey would it be possible for u to program it so it does add Modded Components and resources automatically, because if u use mods with alot of modded items its way too time consuming also it would be just a 1x performace eater and after it shouldnt use more performance then usual

I would highly appreciate it

I am going to "bump" this as this is what I am requesting too, and it would be nice to put it in a place that is easy to access, when on page, others are posting too and it can get lost and hard to keep track of whats going on. I know you said more to follow, but might also be easier for you to follow up by replying here with any info you find etc.. then ill just keep checking back here every few weeks or so and see if any progress has been made or something has been mentioned. Ill post my original message below;

@jTurp , I am back and really want to use this inventory mod, as isy is making my world micro lag every 2 seconds, I've adjusted isy inventory to run slower and its fixed most of the lag, i just freeze for like 1 second every 3-4 mins, maybe little longer... The only thing holding me back from your mod is manually adding all the modded items... I run with a lot of mods and manually finding all the blueprints etc to add is kind of a pain... I was wondering if possible, if you could do something similar to isy inventory, where you tag an assembler with "!learn" and then queue the modded item / components and it will manually learn the blueprint, is this something that can possibly be done with this mod?

Thanks for adding this here. I'll try to look into it tomorrow :)

So I looked at what is available in the API, and also what IIM is doing, and all Isy is doing is matching the queued blueprint with the resulting component definition. He isn't calculating needed resources for the item, and there doesn't appear to be any straight forward way to do it in the API.

Best I can probably do is monitor the input inventory to see what gets pulled in when you queue up the modded item, or an app that sifts through mod SBC files for you and creates the entries.

Hey, sorry for the long time in replying, I took a bit of a break from this game, anyway, yeah, anything that is possible to make adding modded items automatic instead of having to go through all your documents / files yourself is a major improvement.

Not to sound rude or anything but, If you want to have more success or even become the best inventory mod, then I think this is a big step in the right direction, even if you do something similar to how Isy's does this, at least it adds the modded items and then you can just add them to the screen to make sure you always have X amount made.

I think already this inventory mod is way better then most and runs way smoother, but I just think major core features that are really a big QoL improvement are missing. I dont know enough about this stuff, so maybe the kind of stuff missing is what is causing other mods to be laggy or making your world lag etc. Hopefully you will be able to find a way though to make it as smooth as possible, if in the end you do decide to add this as a feature / QoL update <3

I hope this come across as the way im explaining it, as the way I am thinking haha, basically I just think not having automatic adding of modded items, which for most inventory mods, you just queue 1-10 of the item, then it will "scan" the item being crafted and add it. Normally you have to name the machine something specific, I haven't played in a while but I think you rename your assemblers to something like "!learn" and then queue the modded item you want added to the inventory manager script you are using, if that makes any sense at all, I think you will understand since you have checked out isy's, but yeah maybe there is a way to do it that is more "user friendly" to servers and even single player worlds.

Thanks!
