I have deleted the initial post, and summarized it in case someone else has the same problem as me.

I had the problem that, no matter which pawn was having a break, I didn't get the option to calm them down.

I thought there was a mod conflict somewhere, but it turns out that aggressive mental breaks can't usually be calmed down. There is however an option for that in the settings. This is either new, or I didn't notice it in the last year of playing with this mod.

Since I enabled "Grim Reality" when I started the latest save, I had gotten almost exclusively violent breakdowns so far (Prisoners that somehow objected to being fed the friends-and-family-flavoured nutrient paste). So it seemed to me that the mod wasn't working, since I was never able to calm them down.
