Total War: WARHAMMER II

Total War: WARHAMMER II

Lore Names: Renamed Factions & New Evolving Names [Updated for the S&F DLC]
New Romen Empire counter-suggestion (+ Grand Tzardom)
I wanted to post this as a comment, but steam doesn't let me because of the size, so I'm opening a thread

Kislev

Seeing Sarpen's reply, I looked into the requirements of kislev and they are weird indeed
The difference of level 3 and level 4 names (grand tzardom and ice tzardom) is just level three provinces

Tilea/Estalia/Border Princes (alongside bretonnia+empire) is pretty much a humanity unification, but there are no names if you conquer the empire, or bretonnia, exclusively.

Having tilea/estalia/borderprinces is too much for a level 3 imo, it should be for level 4 or final level.

So for my suggestion, it would go like this:
Tier 1 - Kingdom of Kislev (default, and doesnt change if you conquer the north)
Tier 2 - The Ice/Frost/Tzar Empire (requires conquering the empire, perhaps if its easy just reikland instead of all elector cities)
Tier 3 - Ulric's Tzardom or sth (has all human factions conquered)
There is also the idea of england "the empire where the sun never sets", in this way adapted because final tier of having all humanity, stretches from the deep north to the deep desert in border princes, but something like " The Frostfire Tzardom" is too out of place without lore popup.

Tilea

Interesting that fictional romans exist in warhammer. But since they didn't extend past their small peninsula, and didn't become a glorious empire, why would it be "New Romen Empire", since the romen empire of warhammer wasn't even half the size of the real roman empire? Rome is praised because in the time of trajan, it stretched from iberia to persia. Sure, it was the laws and the culture too, but this is what people value most in rome - the splendor/greatness/conquest. So, in a setting where fictional rome didn't expand and didn't reach any real glory (imagine romulus tribes, before even punic wars), and all other empires overshadowed it, why would anyone seek to imitate it? Especially when they surpass it by far, like tomb kings or nagash empire or sigmarite kingdoms or united elves (pre-split)

tl;dr: I get that it exists, but it still makes no sense to name that level of Tilea "The New Romen Empire"

Hello, and thanks for your feedback, it's possible the discrepancy between the name changes is due to moving from game 2 Mortal Empires, although I didn't choose the parameters for that.

With regards the Kislev, I approached the names in terms of the LL going from control of their own respective court to the entire state, so in the beginning Katarin's leadership is challenged and she only controls the Ice Court, before extending her control over the city of Kislev akin to Ivan Grozny expanding the Grand Duchy of Moscow towards the Russian Empire etc etc. The final stage relates to Ursun's Tzardom after the defeat of Belakor and (presumably) roleplaying the restoration of Ursun. Ulric is a minor god in Kislev so the Tzardom wouldn't take his name.

Regards Tilea, I was under the impression that in the old 5ed lore that Tilea at one time had been part of a Empire of Remas, with it's Colosseum etc. When I have looked back, it perhaps got retconned or perhaps I am remembering some fan lore. But the Empire of Remas is still in the lore for the Leopard Company. It might perhaps be better to reference Tylos or Kavzar rather than Remean, although Miragliano could be seeking to be a successor state to the Empire of Remas, as in the New Remean Empire
However, the use of the word Tzardom, doesn't make sense to me as Tilea doesn't have Slavic references?
