Long explanation: I decided not long after releasing the mod that it needed a complete rewrite due to performance problems and the issues most of the people in the bugs/crashes section are having. This was my first project in C# and as such it was very poorly designed/planned so very little of the code if any could be recycled in the rewrite. Because of the immense amount of my free time it would take to rewrite the entire code from scratch (and having other half-finished projects to do) I haven’t yet got around to it.
So basically, I have given up on Smart Turrets maintenance and bug fixing and will hopefully, eventually, get around to making a sequel that won’t have any of the intrinsic problems this mod has.
Your beam turret mod control problems are the ramifications of one of those intrinsic problems and I don’t think they can be fixed without the rewrite.
I'd offer to help, but I have my own massive C# project I'm meant to undertake when I feel I have something resembling any real free time.
