Mod Improvements
Great mod, I really love the ability to have children and build family trees. However I have some suggestions to improve the mod (the teaching side of it) after a play through.

1. Requirements for teachers is far too high, especially for the Intellectual skill. I think it would be more beneficial to have the specific skill requirement for each subject to be high and the Intellectual skill requirement to be low like at a 2. Example - to teach cooking you should be required to have a cooking skill of 8 but only a intellectual skill of 2. Otherwise, you end up only being able to teach 1 or 2 subjects at most.

2. There isn't really a need for children to be students when they are born with high skills, you might as well put them to work. I think it would be better for children to be born with skills at 0 but specific passions. That way it makes sense to send them to school, instead of having them work and mess up constantly around the colony.

3. Bills on the blackboard and the school table are causing the teacher to be teaching an empty class and the students to be learning without a teacher present sometimes. I think if you were able to run of a time schedule program rather than bills, it would make the whole school thing more realistic. I know in the Call to Cthulu mod, you can have morning and evening sermons where the colony gathers in the church even if they were in the middle of doing something else. If it could run off something like that, where school is held in specific times of the day and both the teacher and students show up at the same time. For example, from 9h - 14h the teacher and students drop what they are doing and head to school and then resume what they were up to when it is done.

I realize that modding is not easy and probably a lot of this will be hard to implement, but if you are willing to work on it i think your mod could be near perfect! Again, thank you for your hard work, I love this mod! Keep it up :)

If you have used that coloy leadership mod how its author did the teaching/learning is kind of similar to what your talking about as well and it worked rather decintly to might half to be adjusted to let only the children to use it though

Good points, and thanks for the feedback

1. I just put these numbers in more or less 'randomly' back then, they deffinately need to be reworked/fine tuned (maybe we should put a table here and work out what they should be, or I make it configurable, I will at least put the current values in this thread later)

2. You can actually set this in the options, so that the skills are all at 1 (I think) I will add another option for 0

3. Yeah at least the leadership-mod was on my list to have a look at, I know its not the best way currently, but it was the easiest to implement, I will rework this at some point

Thank you for taking my suggestions and feedback into consideration! I realize now that you had the option to set the skills to 1 in the mod options and even lower the age which is cool too! I happy to help in any way in the future when you get to reworking the mod. Keep up the great work man and happy gaming :)

Took me some time to find the time to work on a new update, but I just released it! Details are in the changenotes and in my comment on the mod page, but I adressed all points in this thread as good as I was able in the time I had ^^ Hope the new time restriction is something which can be worked with until I may be able to replace the current system fully

Also a good idea would be is making the school for adult pawns aswell. You can already configure it in mod config though. But it has some glitches that the adult pawn just start doing something else.

You are never too old to learn so implementing the school for adult pawns is cool aswell :Steamhappy: you could also do something with adding a university. after a pawn reaches a certain skill level. Then let say the teacher intellectual skill is 15. the student has a intellectual skill level of 5, the student can train intellectual lets say 3-5 levels below the teacher, for balance. Also children could have like a graduation event, like the party.

Maybe this will give you some ideas, keep at it. I love this mod :steamhappy: good job

I love the concepts of this mod but I will keep an eye on it. I personally would like to see something like this with children and families. So I will see where this goes in time. Thank you very much for getting even this far :)
