Beldurra
Beldurra - Review by Endless
★★★★ 4/5: Great and fun, until the finale

I have no idea what Beldurra means, but this campaign has two excellent maps that create a fantastic atmosphere full of variety and sweet darkness, emphasizing the chaos and abandonment of a semi-urban environment, going through sewers, and reaching a swamp. The visuals are fantastic, with a well grounded effect that gives a realistic sense of the danger of the infected. The exploration, while somewhat obscure at first, compacts and reveals paths easily.

The gameplay is quite sweet and balanced. Constant groups of zombies, but no overwhelming horde rushes or stupid-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Most of the combat takes place in very well designed levels with plenty of room for cover, stands and runaways. Not bad at all.

Now, all that goes into the first two maps. The last map, the finale, feels like it was made by a different author. It feels rushed, it starts showing some ugly design choices (like plain horizons with no tree lines or at least a skybox to hide the terrain clipping), stupidly hard gameplay due to a non-stop horde, an a very boring and dull rescue mechanic that doesn't work well with bots at all. You have to either kill them or warp them in your position, otherwise, most bots don't follow you into the rescue zone, and because it closes a gate, they are perma locked outside, and your game has being ruined. What a terrible way to end what is, otherwise, a very fun and well collected set of maps.
