Weird CIS ships
Does anyone else feel that a lot the Confederacy's ships are very difficult to get good use of, or are extremely niche, or are just underwhelming compared to Republic options? I understand the Confederacy is considered to have a very strong navy, especially in the early weeks of the campaign where their Lucrehulks, Providences and massed Munificents can overwhelm thinly-stretched Republic players, which is probably why there are so many guides for playing the Republic.
But I don't "get" most of the lower-tier CIS ships. The Techno Union frigate costs significantly more than a Munificent, without a significant improvement. The Recusant is a beast to maneuver around with its long frame, seems to prefer broadsides, and provides an enormous Line of Sight, which is nice but unmentioned and maybe unintentional. I don't know why I would bother trying to repair squadrons in the Supply Ship, battles move far too quickly for the time investment. The Wavecrest seems very neat with its entirely forward-facing batteries, but again you have to pay a lot for it and it just seems to under perform.
Someone, anyone, let me know what you think, if you agree or if I'm missing the point.

I think it is just because most CIS ships are made to fill a certain role, unlike than the Venator which is good at performing sieges, ship-to-ship combat, and giving off tons of fighters. For example, the Techno Union frigate is dang hard to take down for early-tech Republic players. The Supply Ship's fighter repair bay is amazing when you just sit back with several carriers and send an endless amount of fighters at the Republic (as well as repairing major hero fighters), and the Wavecrest's shields are powerful and tough to take down.
