Your experience with the steam workshop version
Hello dear community,

The space battles are great. But there is not land battles

Crashed upon major space battle in skirmish (had just brought in the hive ship to smash the asguard ships)

You could try to launch the mod via the launch options in steam:
Modpath=..\..\..\workshop\content\32470\1126880602

Possibly caused by the SYNC ERROR DETECTED + CRASH issue. We will keep investigating this one. Did you try to play a modded (custom) map or a vanilla one?

One possible balancing issue I've felt is the fact that you get access to corvettes at tier 1. the problem with this is that it makes fighters and bombers sort of redundant in the early game, as it's far more cost efficient to just get a few corvettes instead.

This turns the early game into a corvette slugfest until someone reaches level 2 and starts spawning in frigates. Especially for the Wraith, this also means that they won't really have any fighters at all until the late game when they gain access to carriers, since it's not worth it to build individual fighters due to how many corvettes that tend to be on the field.

So far, I’ve played 5 games on singleplayer skirmish mode and the mod has crashed 4 out of 5 times. The first map was the modded map Celestis Catharsis. I played with three factions all on medium difficulty. I played as the Tau’rie, and I changed the game setting from destroy enemy space station to destroy enemy. This game resulted in a crash.

The second game was on the modded map The Blue Giant of Talthus. Again, I played with three factions active with me playing as the Tau’rie, all the setting the same as the first map. This game also resulted in a crash.

The third map I played was on the vanilla map High Point Felucia. All of the settings were the same as the first two games with three factions. I played the Tau’rie, and all the AIs were on medium. The game resulted in a crash.

The fourth map I played was on the vanilla map Battle Over Geonosis. This time I played a map with only two factions. I played the Tau’rie and the AI played as Anubis. The AI was on medium difficulty and as the other maps I had the victory setting set to destroy enemy. This game did not crash and it played through until I annihilated those Goa'uld scum.

The fifth map I played was exactly the same as the fourth map with the only change being that I increased the difficulty of the AI to hard. This game resulted in a crash.

My computer runs Windows 10 Pro with an Intel(R) Core(R) i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00GHz, 16GB Ram, with a GeForce GTX 660 Ti graphics card. When steam updated Empire at War with workshop support and reactivated multiplayer I did a clean install of Empire at War. The only other mods I have installed are through the workshop and are Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War and Demo: Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War 2.2. I also launched the mod through the Set Launch options.

I hope this information is of use. Keep up the great work. In my opinion this is one of the greatest mods for Empire at War. You all are awesome!

@OrangeDestroyer Thank you for this detailed feedback! It will certainly help us. But I have a few more questions:
- When did those crashes occur?(On start, mid-game, end)
- Did you spawn any huge or special unit?
- Did you use any specific abillity which might have corelated to the crash?
- Did anything happen in-game( Destruction of something, ai fleet spawn, etc.)

You dont have to answer all of those. It would just help us to know if some of those events occured prior to the crash!

None of the games I played crashed on startup, it was usually mid to late game. I remember that the crashes almost always happened during combat. I don’t remember using any specific abilities that might have caused it nor do I remember calling in reinforcements but it is entirely possible that the AI did. I can’t really remember more than that. Hope it helps.

have had the mod freeze and then crash multiple times
had it crash just a few seconds after loding it also while i was setting up a skirmish battle
during skirmish battles ranging from a few minutes in to around 20mins in
crashing in skirmish has happened whil i was playing all 3 races
(is my first time playing this mod so only done 1v1 vs AI just to see all the units)
done skirmishes in the following compositions
ME - AI
Tau'ri - Wraith
Tau'ri - Anubis
Wraith - Anubis
Wraith - Tau'ri
Anubis - Wraith
Anubis - Tau'ri
most battles lasted less then 15mins before crashing longest was around 20mins doing Tau'ri vs Anubis (all battles ended in a crash)

game screen goes frozen for a few seconds followed by a CTD no crash logs or crash info is provided by the game also this is the only mod i have experienced crashing
not sure what other info i can provide
other then that i love the mod or atleast the small part of it i have seen so far

Since you ask I tell you: The AI for the Goa'Ult and Wraith works almost 100% at the time. The build Mines, level up their Space Station and play the game. The Tauri AI on the other side uses the Start Money to build some Corvettes and Fighters but neither builds Mines, nor does it level up the base resulting in their insta Death shortly after the Match began.

Sorry if I mispronounced the Factions names.

Can't launch a battle with more than 4 participants without the mod crashing. Tried it as all 3 factions and different numbers but for some reason 4 seems to be the cut off point.

I keep crashing when assaulting enemy starbases. The faction-matchup doesn't seem to matter.
