Multiplayer
Does this mod need to be installed on a server as well as a client to function on a server?

It should work. Do both players have the mod installed? Can you post both starbound logs?

I tried it with just one player joining the Server and it didn't work then. (when I did have 2 players it didn't either and both of us had the mod installed. Where do I get the log from?

Thanks for replying!

Does the server itself have the mod though? Also the starbound log is located in storage folder of your starbound game files. So likely Steam/steamapps/common/Starbound/storage

I sorted it, if I just had the mod through steam workshops it didn't work, but manually putting the mod in the mods folder worked.

Thanks for your help!

Do you need to have a server to play with mods on multiplayer?
I invited my friend through steam and my and his rpg growth mod dont seem to be working. By that i mean the experience orbs wont drop. I have a few other mods he only has rpg growth i have rpg growth and a few others

The only thing i can think of off the top of my head is to enable assets mismatch if you havent already. If that doesnt work then can you provide a list of all the mods you have and of the starbound log shortly after trying to play multiplayer with your friend.

How and where do i do that?
Daniel  [developer] Oct 4, 2017 @ 7:23pm
In settings one of the boxes is called "allow assets mismatch" or something similar. The starbound log is located in starbounds storage directory which is most likely in Steam/steamapps/common/Starbound/storage/starbound.log
Chaika? Yes. Chaika.  [developer] Oct 7, 2017 @ 2:14pm

In addition to that, from what I can tell from your original post, you and your friend have different mods installed. If that is the case, and the mods you have installed are not client-side only, this may be causing the issue. I would recommend looking through both of your lists and making sure you both get each mod in your lists.

I will be locking this thread. If the problem persists, please put it in the 'Bugs' discussion.

Thank you.

Does this mode work in multiplayer? I am trying, but whenever I choose the class in multiplayer, it gives a bug that calls "incoming client packet has caused an exception" and closes my character and returns to the home screen. What should I do?
