Planet Thera

Description
NOTE: This planet was originally created with a custom cloud layer, but at the time of this posting it's currently not possible to mod custom cloud textures. The custom clouds were shown in the images because once Keen implements cloud modding I will update this to include them. In the meantime I have modified it to use Keens earthlike clouds.

This is planet Thera. It's a special one for me because it's the planet that I learned how to make planets with. This is an earthlike planet (Biomes, Gravity and O2 levels are the same as the Keen Earthlike planet). Some of its unique features include:

- Custom terrain (heightmaps) hand-drawn by me.
- Huge cliff faces so big they can be seen from space.
- Epic ore deposits so big they can also be seen from space. Maybe even too much ore.
- Huge ice oceans that separate the land into three continents (and several small islands)
- Sparse forests (they do get a bit thick in some places, but mostly they're pretty sparse)

Update (2/2/16):
Since I first published this mod Keen has made a few changes that caused the cloud layers to become much more intense than intended. The clouds should be a bit less intense now. Also added Platinum ore to the planet definition so there should be platinum in the ground now.

So I take it this planet is also broken? Very sad. Not blaming anyone. I just have to figure out how to date restrict searches of the workshop.

I realize where you're coming from: It can be frustrating to browse or search the Workshop, looking for ideal mods to enjoy for a game, only to have to wade through hundreds or thousands of abandoned mods that no longer work (or which conflict with other mods) - reading countless comments like this - in order to find usable mods to build a nice, usable mod list.

But blaming mod authors is unfair. If you must blame someone, then blame the game devs for not setting up their (Space Engineers) mod workshop to use tags for each game version, which could've allowed us to filter mods by game version, which would've automatically hidden all mods that were neither made for nor updated for the latest version. For example, RimWorld is set up properly so it is extremely easy to filter out all mods that were neither made for nor updated for a specific game version.

Mods get abandoned by creators who have moved on to other games or at least switch between them over long periods of time. But these creators are not obligated to keep them updated or to take them down when they no longer work. Usually, they provide them to the community for free, getting nothing for all their time and effort but bug reports, complaints and the occasional praise or words of gratitude. Indeed, they did not even have to share them with us. They could've kept them private - for personal use.

The good thing about old, abandoned mods is that, occasionally, they inspire someone else to either recreate the mod, make something similar or update/fix them, allowing us to continue to enjoy them. And it's more common than you realize for an author to eventually get around to fix it themselves.

Not dedicated server friendly: 2022-12-12 04:23:44.607 - Thread: 1 -> Exception occurred: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Can not spawn on a dedicated server, FYI.

Not 100% if it's because of the planet or another addon i'm using but, i'm also getting 0 wind, not sure how it used to be in it's prime but was a bit bummed after getting my wind turbine up using the survival unlikely mod :)

I honestly miss this planet so much :/ Wish it would get an update. So many epic bases were built on this planet
