Search Box Mod

Enables a search box to browse placeable assets ingame. Buildings, props, growables all appear in searches. This includes assets in other mods. As of Update 1.2, this mod supports favourite assets.

Update 1.2
- Assets can be favourited. This is done by clicking the star icon in the bottom right hand corner of each icon wthin the search box panel.
- Favourited assets appear in 'Favourites' category
- Favourites can be enabled/disabled at anytime

- Hotkey immediately focuses search box. Can be toggled in options
- Fixed to correctly search by the asset's displayed name
- Various performance improvements

Minor Update 1.1.1
- Favourite Cims compatibility issue fixed
- Hotkey support

Update 1.1
The first update is here and a lot of improvements have been made

- Searching performance is much faster
- Searching no longer stalls the game's framerate as much
- Searching speeds can be optimised for your own machine (details below)
- Categories are now added and can be selected via a drop down box
- Buildings and growables can be filtered by their footprint. The first number corresponds to the length of the building at the road, the second number is the depth from the road.

- Trees are now fixed and can be placed
- Fixed some instances where mods could not be found with strings that should match them
- Excluded certain assets that are unable to be placed by the user

The most significant performance boost is the ability to spread a search across multiple frames ingame. It does this by proccessing a set number of assets every frame. This number can be set in the options menu for the mod.
Large batch sizes will complete searches quicker however they may induce low framerates. Small batches compelte searches in a longer period of time however they should not impact the smoothness of the game. It is a good idea to play around with this value to suit your machine's ability.

- There is currently an issue with the mod Favourite Cims. The search button is not displayed. I have diagnosed the problem and I may be able to patch it from this mod.
If you have any issues with this mod please comment below with details and ideally the output_log.txt file via pastebin or any other hosting site and I will investigate it

As of today it hasn't been updated since 23 Nov, 2015!
It may work with Parklife (I haven't tested) but it hasn't been updated for it and I doubt it will be.
I use and prefer
Find It which actually has been updated on 26 May @ 6:56pm post the Parklife release. :steamhappy:

Can you make this work for the asset creator?

I sometimes have a larger brush size when placing props. I'm not sure how to lower it to single placement?
