ShipYard

Description
Function:
This acts as giant fly through welder/shipyard that you can use to build ships off a projector, or just for repairs after a battle.

Specs:
The corner section is 5x5x3 in size, and the flat section is 5x3x1 in size.

Instructions:
Placing the first corner section can be a bit tricky, but I've found that the best method is to place some temp blocks 3x3 on the flat section. After that the rest of the corner sections are not to bad to place. Now you can build this as wide as you want, but do not put more than 2 flat sections going up, or it will leave a gap in the middle that won't weld. Also there are conveyor connections on the sides of the flat section and on one end of the corner section for connecting it to the conveyor system I just didn't add them to the texture. I may add this to the texture at a later time.

UPDATE:
Added a extended range flat section this will allow you to add 1 more flat section giong up, but do to a limitation in the game code makes it where the extended range flat section won't weld next to it's self. So the way I found to work around this is to alternate between the extended range, and the standard flat section when placing them. See pic above. This gives you the max weld value.

UPDATE 2:
Fixed all the textures so you can now tell where all the conveyor connections are located.

UPDATE 3:
Added 3 grinder blocks the Flat Grinder, Flat Grinder XR, And Corner Grinder setting them up works just like the
welders

UPDATE 4:
Added code so in dev branch blocks are now under 1 tab

UPDATE 5:
crash issue fixed thanks to [OOR] Jo'

UPDATE 6:
Fixed welder range issue

UPDATE 7:
Increased sensor radius a bit more to solve the welder and grinder missing blocks in the middle
Side note
the corner section will now damage you on the outer edge

well, the best piece of advice i can give you is everyone is using a blender extension that, for the most part, does all the conversion and packaging into mwm automatically. enenra's SEUT is indispensable but does require the game's SDK and blender specifically. as i understand it it's not too difficult to wrap one's head around in comparison to the old ways. more in-depth stuff like the texture atlas system you'd have to ask someone a little more experienced in the modeling side if you want a less muddied explanation.

@void catgirl rglx I didn't get any notification that people had been leaving comments so I didn't respond. I think I might still have the .fbx/hkt files I would have to look for them. I also wouldn't mind doing the updates myself I just need some help understanding all the changes to the compiler so I can make changes. Either way getting my mods updated and maybe even creating some new ones would be nice. I was one of the very first people to create mods for this game when it came out but had to stop due to traveling for work now I have time I have forgotten so much it's hard to get started again.

i'd like to try and update this mod for modern space engineers, mostly so the texture issues with the conveyor links can be resolved and a third layer of range for the welders so we can have larger arrays. do you have the original .fbx/hkt files for the models?

@Telamont Have you considered adapting the "ToolCore" mod for this shipyard? It may allow you to increase the area of affect.

Can this scale up, if you build up the frame more? Some of my ships are.... large. They wouldn't fit based on the screenshots as presented. And this is a stupid question, but if this acts as a welder or grinder... can you actually be in your ship when it's in the shipyard, or will it kill you?

I like it!
It's really immersive, to repair my ships in such a ShipYard!

@Telamont how do you feel about reupload rights?

C sharp and not very hard to understand @Telamont after all Stellaris XCOM and Minecraft all use it to a point

dose this still work ?

Ah, alrighty. If it works that's good. I'm just wondering if it's been updated where the models fit in better with the current artstyle of the game :P
