Obstacles that you can't see ahead clearly or can't react to on a reasonable level are super annoying, and detract soo much from an otherwise fun level with good aesthetic and flow. I can tell you spent a lot of time on your track, but its definitely in the 'artificially difficult' category.

I hope this helps. =D Distance IRC is a great resource with experienced players willing to help playtest your levels for skips or any other general feedback.

I went through about 5 iterations of City of Rapture removing and replacing obstacles because no one was having fun while playing it. It became a little more boring for me, but the feedback I got was really great. I was adamant at first that people would just have to get better at it, but it wasn't happening and it sucked watching people quitting out or dying repeatedly and getting frustrated. I spent a lot of time removing and resizing obstacles to make them engaging (player has to pay attention to them and go around), but not overly difficult to react to. Also obstacle placement where the average player has to stop boosting is kind of a no-no because it completely ruins the flow.

It's very difficult to strike a good balance for the challenge obstacles provide on distance tracks because when you are making a track, you are playtesting every part over and over and over, so you will spend significantly more time playing your own track than anyone else ever will; so you know every bend and obstacle before you come to it. This leads to too many obstacles and the track being 'artificially difficult'. Not fun challenging, but annoying challenging.

I think some obstacles are annoying like the ramp after the first teleporter. But I'd bet in part a progress for the driver to learn how to pass this or that bunch of obstacles (Though I hate "die and retry" concept) and to reach a kind of smooth path until the end which finishes on a short but straight easy road.

Even 1 or 2 sentences, I'd like to know what you thought or which part of the race was really boring. ;)

Yeah, not very well made.

I was inspired to write a haiku while playing your level (this has never happened before):

Many Obstacles-
All Bunched Up Together-
How Could This Be Fun-
