Omnificia Asteroid

Description
Adds a new asteroid cluster to the game, Omnificia.

Omnificia

Don't like settling colonies on distant planets for rare resources like Niobium and Sap? Want to mix Ceres and Relica biomes into your world but don't like how the Scramble DLC feature handles it? Welcome to Omnificia, your one-stop shop for everything you could imagine!

Omnificia is an extra-large asteroid, and the only asteroid in its cluster. Almost every biome in the game, including those from the Frosty Planet Pack and Prehistoric Planet Pack, is available on Omnificia. You'll also have access to almost every feature you could expect to find across the cosmos, such as Experiment 52B and a guaranteed Niobium Volcano. On top of that, every World Trait is permissible on Omnificia, even ones that are normally reserved for secondary planetoids like Lush Core and Radioactive Crust!

The Geothermal Heat Pump and Demolior are both enabled on Omnificia, without any need for additional mods. Remember, if you dislike Demolior you can always disable it in the game's difficulty settings before creating a new world.

For a more in-depth look at the world's contents, please check out the README file in the mod's folder. It'll go deep into the nitty-gritty.

If you want to spice Omnificia up even more, try installing some mods from my Geyser Suite! It adds some new types of geysers to the game, including Nickel Volcanoes and Liquid Mercury Geysers.

Disclaimers
Because Omnificia is a single asteroid, the Cluster Conquest achievement will be earned the moment you start your game. If you're the type who doesn't want to accidentally unlock achievements before truly earning them, keep this in mind and either play with achievements disabled or wait until you unlock it "naturally".

Conversely, the First Teleport of Call and Soft Launch achievements cannot be achieved on this map. If you're attempting an all-achievements run, you'll have to exclude those two. All other achievements (aside from Lab-specific ones) can be earned as normal, even The Great Escape thanks to some custom code.

If world generation fails, don't blame yourself or your chosen World Traits and Story Traits. In all my testing, world generation only consistently failed for one reason, and that was failure to generate the Niobium Volcano. I believe I've squashed that bug, so if world generation fails for you, please consider it a fluke and try again. If you get repeated and consistent failures, please get in touch with me so we can try and diagnose the issue.

Special Thanks

Huge thank you to Sgt_Imalas, who helped me immensely with the .dll file aspect of this mod. Without that assistance, this mod would not exist at all.

Thank you to ShadowKitty42, who resolved the issue pertaining to meteor showers only using half the possible meteor types.

Thank you to Henrik, whose own Single Asteroid With Everything mod partially inspired some of my choices in this one. While I did originally develop my mod independently, we did discuss some solutions and ideas together later into development.

Thank you to the ONI Discord server's modding channels, where I received a lot of help from the lovely community there.

Update: August 16th, 2025

* The Relica Research Portal should now spawn within the starting area, instead of in a random Garden biome. This should give you a leg up on defeating Demolior.

@Arysto The distant asteroids being absent is intentional. Can you please elaborate on how else the mod is not working?

@ham This mod is compatible with Cluster Generation Manager, which I believe should allow you to customize the geysers that appear during worldgen. Alternatively, you could manually edit the mod's world generation file under worldgen/worlds/VanillaOmnificia.yaml to force an Iron Volcano to spawn. If you look for the section called Curated Geysers you can fiddle with that.

Not having an iron volcano on the whole asteroid sucked, would it be possible to configure which geysers/vents spawn with this mod
Arysto Aug 19 @ 2:37pm
The mod is botched, you have to add distan asteroids etc. the mod is not working otherwise

Nevermind my last message, I've now updated the mod so that the Relica Research Portal will now appear near the start instead of needing to be found in some random location.

@Papa4Five The Demolior event is enabled by default, so yes, it should be heading toward your planet. However, you will need to find and activate the Relica Research Portal in order to see Demolior's impact range. You can find it somewhere in a garden biome, within 4 hexes of start. Unfortunately, I didn't have a better way to place the Relica Research Portal, so you may have to explore the map some more to find it.

I do recommend playing with Demolior set to 300 cycles instead of 200 cycles in the difficulty settings, to compensate for the added difficulty of finding the research portal.

mmh, i am a bit confused (which is easy). does the demolior event (meteor) spawn in this mod automatically or do i have to activate it somehow. cannot find the story start thingy and the crater impact range on the map, but read that the meteor does come. please untwine my head and tell me what is up. tks

@阮棠 If you dislike the size, you can shrink it yourself in by editing the file worldgen/worlds/VanillaOmnificia.yaml

World size is handled on lines 8-10

The map is too big, can it be reduced?
Gotgot Aug 5 @ 2:51pm
Nevermind, the mooteor showed up, after the cycle 1000 ! ;)
Gotgot Aug 3 @ 11:06am
well, it's not game-breaking at all at least. :)
I'm wondering, i'm 600 cycles in my game, but haven't had a gassy mooteor yet. (but all other meteors appeared once already). Is it a bug or just bad luck, or they are more rare? the original gassy moos on the map died of old age just before calling another one in my ranch
