Description
The DDG-23 "Ryou" is Ikuyo Aerospace's first foray into a versatile frontline destroyer. Designed foremost for anti-ship and fleet protection duty, the DDG-23 sports an unparalleled array of super-firing artillery turrets, PDCs, hangar bays and the ship's centerpiece - a highly versatile multi-payload missile bay. Capable of carrying RV-05P Hellpods, SSM-4A anti-ship missiles and potentially other payloads, the Ryou is a force to be reckoned with. Sporting the longest range jump-drives of the Ikuyo Aerospace fleet and an expanded hangar bay capable of holding 3x F-121 fighters or larger strike and reconnaissance aircraft, the DDG-23 is the smallest ship class able to take and hold a planet by itself. In between long voyages, the crew can relax in the spacious interior or perform repairs within the ship's internal causeway.

Armament
  • 3x 200mm Spinal Railguns: 2km maximum firing range.
  • 17x 155mm Artillery Turrets: 2km maximum firing range.
  • 4x 25mm Point Defense Turrets: 800m maximum firing range.
  • 4x Multi-function Missile Tubes: 5000-200000m maximum firing range. More missiles can be carried in storage.

Features
  • All Environments: Boasting a powerful hydrogen propulsion system, the DDG-23 is capable of landing on all planets and moons in gravity up to 1.2G. The patented over-unity refuelling system enables the ship to operate entirely off of water-ice as both fuel and power source. The 2348km rated Jump Drive is the most powerful in the entire fleet, capable of scouting vast distances alone.
  • Durable and Maintainable: The DDG-23 is the most expensive non-capital Ikuyo Aerospace ship, and as such the first to feature auxiliary Ion propulsion. A hybrid armored skirt keeps critical components safe, and what damage does ensue can be easily repaired thanks to its easily accessible components and self-repair projector.
  • Highly Versatile: The DDG-23, while formally the smallest ship to be found in a carrier strike group, is capable of a variety of independent operations using the small hangar and production facilities of its own. Capable of carrying 3x UV-119s, F-121s or any combination of small Ikuyo Aerospace Vehicles (as well as printing them on the fly), the DDG-23 is capable of supporting and conducting a wide variety of military or civilian operations. Additionally, the onboard missile bay is capable of not only deploying air-defense missiles but can deploy RV-05P Hellpods for insertion of small squads onto a planet's surface.
  • Survival Ready: Fully plumbed and survival ready. No subgrids present. Designed foremost to be easily repairable and serviceable.

Datasheet
  • PCU: 26,114 (Main Grid)
  • Block Count: 3,288 (Main Grid)
  • Non-Armor Blocks: 1420
  • Triangles: 7,582,659
  • Grid Mass: 3,193,392kg
  • Lifting Capacity: 36 Small Cargo Containers - 1 Large Cargo Container.

Scripts
Four scripts are included by default. Whip's Auto Door and Airlock, AutoLCDs 2, Whip's SIMPL and LAMP. All of these are optional and in no way effect the critical functions of the ship (with the exception of LAMP which is required for the utilization of the standard guided missiles).

DLCs and Redistribution
This ship is vanilla but uses a large amount of DLC.

Notes
It took me a while to get this together. This was my first foray with a dedicated missile carrying ship and a few things are very overbuilt. Currently unguided simultaneous launches of hellpods from the missile bay has issues which I'm working on fixing, but the guided launches work fine. I'll probably revise the launch bay in the future to be a little cheaper and perhaps do away with it entirely in favor of a single torpedo tube and expand the existing area to be more hangar space. If you want to do single occupant hellpod launches, tube four works best.

Special Credits
This design took tremendous inspiration from the CRN Mac Arthur Class Frigate by Viper. The engine room was based off the Great Guardian "Hanuman" by Benokt. Please go check them out!

Suggestions
I'm always open to suggestions or ideas so please let me know if you have any! This is designed to be a truly multi-role vehicle so as always, please feel free to post any modifications or remixes you make - no attribution required.

Something about being able to power and fuel a ship by just stuffing a load of ice into it makes me very happy lol

All Environment and hydrogen powered... nice. Also awesome design. I bet that fusion reactor the devs are working one will do just fine in future designs.^^
Congrats of fp, well deserved!
