The Bonewheel (2.0 update)

Description

The creaking of splintered wood and rattling of rotting bones herald the coming of the loathsome Bonewheels. Reanimated from the forsaken cadavers of the most heinous of criminals, these undead horrors have fiendishly weaponized the Breaking Wheels that sent them to the grave, transforming them into the brutal cavalry of the skeletal hordes. The devil's speed is nigh unmatched and the unrelenting nature of their assaults are the stuff of nightmares, the only saving grace is the weight and constriction of the execution wheel hobbling the agility of their already decaying forms.

=====Overview=====

Based on the Bonewheels from the Dark Souls series and made accurate levels of painful, these skeletal speed demons are an absolutely lethal enemy with the unique mechanic of a never ending attack, once the Wild Ride starts, the ride never ends. To make matters worse, they will focus on heroes that are stunned and will drop everything to attack those that are marked, however with proper set up, that can be used to your advantage, especially with the new supply item exclusively dropped by the Bonewheels, the Alluring Skull.

The Alluring Skull has the simple effect of Marking the Hero that uses it for 3 turns, but any collected are stored in your provisions instead of sold, allowing you to take them on future quests for free. These skulls are placed in a separate loot table than the normal rewards for defeating a Bonewheel, so you aren't missing out on other drops if you find one, with the exception of the extremely rare Bonewheel Shield trinket:

+50% damage reflection
+20% Melee Dmg
-15% max hp
-8 dodge

Other than these 2 exclusive items, the bonewheels will drop large amounts of gold, between 240 and 1600, or pull from the base games heirloom or trinket reward tables.

Bonewheels spawn mainly in the ruins, but have a low chance to spawn in other dungeons.

=====Other=====
For a good time, replace all the guid listings in the audio override file with {0b705093-a6f3-4bda-9b57-7a6751b9ffd9}

Right after the original upload, someone contacted me with a sound bank for all of DS1's monsters, so expect the sfx to change at some point.

I had to spend several hours researching to confirm it, but that punch attack is actually in the original games.

All the jank is lore accurate.

I broke my word and decided to nerf him, look at how I massacred my boy.

The unedited version I think is just ../ rather than ./../. Sorry if that was confusing haha

Changing one of the files in the win32 folder. Its called 'project_paths.txt'. The new update changed the path to the workshop upload by adding the folders win32 and win64 to the _windows folder.

@Just Luck I'm not sure I understand, do you mean changing the Mod Data path in the project file or changing one of the files in the win32 folder?

When I had to upload one of my mods on the workshop coloured tags would break and become pink. I had to chnage the project paths in the folder win32 to ../../ to fix the coloured tags due to the darkest dungeon 64 bit update. It could be something similar here too

@Tovio That's strange, Pink is the default color the game uses when you try to manually insert a color on a string, but the game doesn't recognize the id, but both of those both of those use base game color ids.

"Bone" rarity on Bonewheel Shield is pink too.

Funny smol ting but the alluring skull mark is now pink

Randomly got 4 of them in a new campaign, killed my entire party. Simply unbalanced, they do 10 things at once while you can maybe get off a 2 hp heal.

Awesome mod.Lost a few heroes to it in the past. Although some deaths may feel unfair due to bad rng I personally cant help but laugh at the pure ridiculousness of it happening. Its fun to let them get in a an attack and see what they do. They have low stun and riposte exists so there is a fair amount of counter play. It makes the enemy very unique and fun to encounter. Thanks for the mod :steamhappy:
