Description
Dual-gender deathclaws with modular bodies, animated heads, colorable skin + eyes, tail physics, and good support for a lot of base game XCOM parts.

The heads are animated, but it's only everything above the snouts as they were jutting out too far to be given proper weighting. They also don't have eyelids, but i feel like it works fine in this case? It somehow looks alright.

This also means they have good hat & helmet support as a result, since i had to shape their heads to match the XCOM heads. Obviously stuff like cigars and bandanas won't work since, y'know, their snouts, but they still work well with a lot of things.

The bodies are modular. I chiseled away at them until they lined up as closely to the XCOM bodies as possible, and adjusted their weight groups accordingly. Your mileage will vary as they're not completely 1:1 with the XCOM bodies, but it's close enough that it should work with most things.

They ARE matched close enough to vanilla that they should be 90% compatible with any auxiliary gear parts (Torso Gear, Thighs, Shoulders, Forearms, etc.) you put on them, though. Other modded parts made with modularity in mind should also work well with them.

Their skin and eyes are fully colorable. I recommend using a color palette expander for the skin, as your default skin color options are severely limited. I also included a custom Albino variant with pure white skin, to make tinting more varied overall.

You might think the Female variants are a bit skinny for a deathclaw, but that's because the XCOM female body itself is quite skinny, that's just how i had to do it to make them vanilla-compatible.

INCLUDED STUFF:
  • Deathclaw (M/F - 3 Heads - 1 Torso - 1 Left/Right Arm - 1 Legs - 1 Shins)
  • Deathclaw Alpha (M/F - 3 Heads - 1 Torso - 1 Left/Right Arm - 1 Legs - 1 Shins)
  • Deathclaw Mother (M/F - 3 Heads - 1 Torso - 1 Left/Right Arm - 1 Legs - 1 Shins)
  • Deathclaw Albino (M/F - 3 Heads - 1 Torso - 1 Left/Right Arm - 1 Legs - 1 Shins)

REQUIREMENTS / SUGGESTIONS:
  • Community Highlander - REQUIRED for the heads to work without crashing.

  • Invisible Body Parts For All - SEMI-REQUIRED so you have a way to take off the Tail in the Shins slot. Can be skipped if using Unrestricted Customization or Project Dollhouse, they have their own options for removing parts from slots.

  • All Armour Avenger - SEMI-REQUIRED because without this, all your deathclaw soldiers will use the human underlay uniform when spawned on the Avenger, which will look really stupid.

  • Project Dollhouse - Greater color control. You can also use One Million Colours if PDH isn't an option.

  • UFOPedia & Bestiary - The Deathclaws have an archive entry in the "Groups of Interest" section.

KNOWN ISSUES:
  • The necks are very thick, and are near-guaranteed to clip out of any torso part unless you use a scarf or something to cover it up.

  • The tops of their heads are a lot lower down than the XCOM heads, so some helmets you give them might look kinda funny.

  • The claws are so long, they like to clip into the hands when the fingers curl.

  • The tail is too short to fit on some leg parts.

  • All textures come in 1024x1024 size. This will cause them to appear more low-res than their surroundings If using reduced texture settings.

Thank you Max!

The tint is brown, even it is midway point, still too dark. I will see if I can do anything once I finish my current Warhammer total war 3 campaign.

It's moreso due to Head archetypes having hidden skin color settings. Even if you changed the textures of the base heads to be fully white, it wouldn't actually change much since their archetypes have their own colors set.

Open any of the head archetypes, click the wrench in the top right of that window, then "Show All Hidden Properties". Open the "None" section and you'll see the "Body Tint" value, which has a unique color for every head.

Regarding to the Albino texture, does that mean it is possible to make Caucasian human skin whiter? Even at the highest setting, they still look quite tanned.

I used modbuddy to find the base textures, for example CaucFemC_DIF, which are very white compared to the in game skin. I edited the Torso_F_MSK file to see if I could toned it down to no avail.
