What if the August coup succeeds?

It is the dawn of a new century. The Soviet Union, although suffering from stagnation and internal strife, has largely managed to survive into the modern era, wielding a cumbersome army while public spending has continuously been curtailed. The United States, hurting from a weak president and a sluggish economy, has lost the optimistic aura of the 1990s, with its government facing some difficult decisions in the years ahead. Around the globe, tensions are brewing, and with the two superpowers preoccupied by their own troubles, ambitious local leaders are poised to exploit these vulnerabilities for their own gain.

While playing as Iraq, during the Iran-Iraq war, Iran gains a modifier, "Second Holy Defense," which gives the Iranians +1000 manpower weekly. It is my understanding that due to the existing population of Iran, they are able to have 1-2 million manpower in RESERVE, and about 1.2-1.7 million manpower deployed (200+ divisions compared to Iraq's best case scenario: 50!). The war is, however, winnable. Though, this is easily a conflict that will last at least 2-3 years just on the starting frontline (note: I started the war in late 2003/early 2004). The only hope Iraq has to win is to build up an industry under constant Iranian infrastructure-destroying threat. Using the industry, Iraq is expected to out-produce the Iranians in military equipment, even though Iran has about 78 factories and a 4-5 year advantage in industry/production. Developers, I humbly ask that you change the 'Second Holy Defense' modifier in the aims of balancing the mod's experience. Thank you! :D

This mod is pretty sweet. I'd argue some areas need some improvement, such as the African nations (Liberia, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Algeria) being irrelevant to the Cold War, the Military government in South Africa almost always losing and never ending American involvement.

Also the Middle East is pretty buggy, Iran has busted military and the civil war that breaks out when they lose is pretty broken, not spawning the Shah and if the government somehow wins the resistance movement still takes power.

It's pretty well optimised, can crash a fair bit if you use ANY console command, what's here is really great. Had a blast with the Soviets and the US, can't wait for an update for the United States.
