SOT-11 (BUNKER) Missile Strike Calling and Targeting System

BDA-3 Compatible Vehicles (DB-9 Network)

Description
This is the example bunker version of SOT-11. If you want to mount this on your vehicle, there’s a bare version for that purpose: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3304016864

WARNINGS:
It is important to read these warnings before using the vehicle. Not following these instructions can cause errors, destruction of the vehicle and even nuclear contamination. Warnings marked as critical are the ones, that cause the most damage when not followed.
  • (CRITICAL) The targeting assist should be activated, when using the radar distance measurement. Otherwise it won't work, and the distance is interpreted as 0m. This makes the missile target the targeting system, which obviously gets it destroyed. [FIXED. NOW THE RADAR DISTANCING WORKS ON IT'S OWN.]

Directly compatible systems:
These other units will communicate directly with SOT-11. Others may be still needed for proper function.

What is SOT-11
Introducing Meteor Combat Systems’ new nuclear powered autonomous strategic missile carrier (BDA-3), and it’s targeting system (SOT-11). With SOT-11, multiple users can call missile strikes almost anywhere. The missiles (SGUM-7A) carried by the drone can hit a target 20km away with 0.5m accuracy. Because of the missile’s high speed, cruise altitude and impact angle, the missile is very hard to detect and intercept reliably by the enemies.

Targeting system's features (BDA-3):
  • Touch controlled “turret”.
  • Compact design (Bare version).
  • Missiles strikes can be called at any time by multiple users.
  • “Circle Me” command, which orders the drone to circle the SOT-11 10km away.
  • “Targeting Assist”, which is a radar driven system that aims the turret for you.
  • Option between laser and radar distance measurement. Radar has more jitter, but it gets the target’s center better. This is recommended for large naval targets.

DB-9 Control network
DB-9 is a system, which allows multiple users to both control drones, and call in missile strikes. This system at the moment consists of BDA-3 (Autonomous Strategic Missile Platform), VC-10 (Drone Control Terminal), SOT-11 (Strike Calling and Targeting Terminal), UC-5 (Autonomous Rearm Vehicle) and SGUM-7A (GPS Precision Missile).

How to use:
See the attached video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5lQFMRq5Ao

Planned additions (Drone and compatible units):
  • Mid air rearming. (Likely not to happen soon)
  • Data encryption. Right now, the radio data can be seen by everyone, who has a control terminal and knows the frequency.

Known issues:
  • When the targeting assist is turned off, the turret returns to the position, where it was before it’s activation.
  • The targeting system has some inaccuracy, which can make the missiles miss the target. The problem is in the targeting, not the missiles.

Please comment about issues or future suggestions!
