Welcome All!

Welcome to the NSB Tank Overhaul Mod, an easy way of adding flavor and freshness to playing with Tanks! This Mod expands the existing Tank Designer with new modules, slots and weaponry. It does this while also retaining the simplicity of the vanilla designer, allowing for fluent and enjoyable gameplay.

Are you tired of building perfect medium tank divisions every game? Would you like to more accurately recreate Tanks and Armored Divisions of the Second World War or simply see what new designs of yours prosper - and which fail? This Mod tries to bring you those experiences and more. It is meant mainly for Singleplayer, mainly because of balance concerns, but can be fun in Multiplayer as well.

Research Tree
The new research tree introduces a weapon tree, including different ammunition types for tank cannons. There are new modules such as Open-Top Turrets, upgraded Engines and Armor Types as well as Late-Game upgrades to add more flavor for different Tank Types.

Designer



The Designer got an upgrade as well. There is a dedicated slot for Radios as well as two new Special Module Slots, allowing for more customization. Additionally, a slot for Additional Armaments (Turret mounted MGs or similar weapons) and one for Primary Ammunition Type (Kinetic rounds for cannons - chemical rounds for howitzers) have been added.

New Resource



A Resource to represent a nations capacity of actually producing vehicles in the tens of tons has been added: The Heavy Manufacture. Every Nation starts with at least a bit of this Resource and more can be gained by building Tank Manufacture Facilities (per decision).



All Tanks need this new resource to be produced.

Custom Module Names

Country-specific Localisation has been added for Germany and the Soviet Union. Historical Cannon and Ammunition Names are now displayed. This will be expanded upon in the future.

Armored Car and Mechanized Changes

Armored Cars and Mechanized each get a Anti Air and Tank Destroyer variant which can be used instead of the regular support companies.




An experimental Designer for both equipment types has been added as well, this must be enabled in the Game Rules.

A lot of rebalancing and other smaller changes have been made. Most of these can be easily found by simply playing the game. If you have made it this far reading and want to try this mod, please enjoy yourselves and happy map colouring!

Can you Make this compatible with Kaiserreich somehow? Because as of right now whenever you try to play with both mods active it messes with the focus tree of some nations like germany.

For whatever reason the guns and ammunition don't show up in the research tab. first I noticed this in Kaiserreich, which doesn't change the base tech tree I think, but it is also there when I load up only that mod on vanilla. Not only that, adding the plane and boat overhauls don't fix it, and they have the modules still.

Thx for this cool mod, but there is a R56 submod bug, that overrides the mobile warfare tech tree with generic stuff.

just suggestion more upgrade for tanks... module like night vision, special project, more mecha.. but its very hard to cording and spend much time.

I hope you can further develop this great mode when you have time!
