Beskrivelse
Hunt or be hunted! This addition introduces the Hunter, a profession tasked with supplying your colony with valuable animal carcasses.

New job block: Hunting Camp
New job: Hunter
New tools: Hunting Backpacks
Removed Tanner recipe for Animal Carcass

A hunt would take 120 seconds. It's quite a gamble, where you can get 1 item with 50% chance, 2 with 30% and 3 with 10%
All chances are independent, so maybe your hunter would be lucky enough to bring all 6 at once!
Speed it up with hunting backpacks — a new special tool, crafted with weapons, ammo, food, and stuff that players usually use.

Nevermind. Seems like the colonists will swap tools, eventually, even using the modded ones. I also didn't realize that I can force it by deleting the lower tier of tools anyway.

It works fine for me, except for one strange bug... the hunter always uses the first tool. Usually you can remove and replace a job block to force them to upgrade to the best tool available, but the hunter doesn't do this. I assume it's because they use a custom tool and that messes up something in game logic. Regardless, the hunter is still useful, since the base game requires you to reach Iron Age before you can get something equivalent.

Also the recipe that gives us more meat than skin is not working. It does not show up in the tanner's workbench when you do research Hunting Traditions.

You need to remove the hunting camp from the merchant's hub science entry. It is very misleading. The way you have it now it implies that all you have to do to start hunting is research the merchant's hub and then you can start making hunting camps in the job-block crafter's workbench, but that is not the case.

You have to research the merchant's hub, buy 5 animal carcasses so you can research the tanner and unlock hunting traditions, research hunting traditions, and then you can start making the workstations in the job-block crafter's workbench to go out hunting.

Hunting camp says to be crafted in the certain table, but the table does not list the Hunting camp, How does one craft it?

Fair enough

@Otleaz sustainable food source was never a target :)
Mostly for leather crafting. I would think about different game types with different skin to meat ratio, but it's easy to make system too complex

Fun to fool around with, but not really sustainable in terms of food production. Best to keep just one or two of these guys to keep up your skin production.

Might be better once you have high-tier tools to speed up the glacial tanner's workshop, but then you probably have better sources of food anyways.

I doubt the mod author wants to revisit this, but if they did, it would be nice to have a chance to find "plump carcasses" that have a separate recipe that gives more meat and less skin. That might put it closer to fish in terms of efficiency.
