Unit Overhaul WWII Mod version 2.1
Main Features:

Player tip, for more historical long play set world volatility to none. If playing Germany avoid Sea Lion, otherwise Overlord wouldn’t make much sense. Not balanced at all, but very historical, so expect a tough go. Most events are for the ai, so as a player, play historical dates for best accuracy.

New Features in 2.1!
• Many tweaks and fine tuning!
• Adjusted Germany playeraistance from 0:Normal to 3:Aggressive
• Adjusted several event lines regarding Italian playeraistance, so they do not conquest France before Germany does on DW if allied.
• Range Value of all WWII aircraft reviewed and corrected.
• AI does a much better job at building combined arms forces, no more engineer hordes or special forces hordes.
• Dozens of unit balance tweaks.
• Rework of all Special Forces and advanced training units, see changelog for details.
• Further tweaking of Italy so they are not conquering all of Europe before ’39.
• China’s militia force was greatly increased to keep Japan from overrunning unrealistically.
• Bolstered several invasion events so that they are more successful.
• Added several more late war German Field Marshalls and Army Generals.

Installation:
*Make a copy of the original SRU files
1. Make a copy of the original SRU DEFAULT.unit file in the SR > Map > Data Folder, keep it somewhere safe.
2. Place the new DEFAULT.Unit file in the SRU > Map > Data Folder and accept all overwrites.
3. Open the downloaded 1936 Orbats file, select all orbats and copy and paste in the SRU > Maps > Orbats folder, accept all overwrites.
4. Open the downloaded Meshes folder, select all files and copy and paste in the SRU > Graphics > Meshes folder.
5. Copy and paste the downloaded SR1936 WMDATA file into the SRU > Map > Data Folder and accept all overwrites.
6. Copy and paste the downloaded SR1936 OOF file into the SRU > Map Folder and accept all overwrites.
7. Copy and paste the downloaded SR1936 CVP file into the SRU > Map Folder and accept all overwrites.
7b.(Optional if you want the new events update!) Copy and paste the downloaded SR1936 Excel file into SRU > Common folder and accept all overwrites.
8. Start Supreme Ruler, choose 1936 Sandbox, choose your country.
9. Before accepting, click the "Game Settings">"Scenario Settings" at the very bottom is a box to check that says "Recache", check it.
10. Hit accept.
11. Go get a snack, the game is recaching all of the new units and will take some time, depending on your computer, mine usually takes about 15 or 20 minutes. It looks like it is locked but it is not. Just be patient.
12. Once the game finally opens, save it right away. Shut down SRU completely, restart and select your favorite 1936 sandbox country. You can check to be sure you have it all installed correctly if you open up one of the major countries after game start and look at their Land Tab > Facilities > Industrial Goods, if there is an Industrial Goods facility being built, you have everything installed correctly.
13. Enjoy and feel free to post any fixes or future requests.


For players who are doing multi-player games and experiencing desyncs and errors the following steps will fix these problems:
1. A fresh reinstall of the base SRU game. The more players you have the more likely that someone has forgotten about some old file they updated or replaced. Even if one file is off there will be a problem.
2. Unsubscribe and Resubscribe to the Unit Overhaul Mod, double check to see if the attached changelog description version matches the latest version of the mod.
3. Make sure ALL files go where they need to go (as detailed above) and that an overwrite prompt was given.
4. Everyone needs to do a recache.

As Germany I provided them with some old 1918 Calvary units, maybe some old artillery pieces, but not an excessive amount by any means. I can show you a screen shot on my discord channel of their last year between 1940 and 1941. Did you by chance update to the latest version? They are holding pretty well in my campaign.

am i as the usa expected to help them because japan in my game is having no problem steamrolling china and annexing them

Yes before the update Japan would steam roll China very quickly. China has a small professional army, but millions of peasants that took up arms, in game as militias. In my current campaign I am just at Barbarossa and the Japanese have stalled out about a year prior.

okay side question: what about the Chinese-Japan war, i saw you had an update to keep from japan from overunning china but in my games so far china falls to japan within the same year of war every time.

You can track your opponents air, land, naval, and research capabilities via the Land Tab > Unit Facilities and Complexes window or through the Regional Atlas 2nd Window, Build Capacity.

Voo, The ai will get events that help them vs. player will not as they can do that on their own. And vice versa, if you play the other country, you will need to play accordingly as they are now the ai and will get the events that you will not. These are based on historical events. The events at play are basically putting human input into the ai, that would not otherwise be there.

Is it just me, or is the AI too much better? I've discovered that when playing as the USA vs. Japan in WW2, if I play as the USA, my navy gets wiped out by Japan, but if I play as Japan, my navy gets wiped out by the USA. I'm not sure if this mod assumes you to micromanage more often, but why would this occur? Is it just a skill issue, and I'm misunderstanding a mechanic at play?

zimbohoo, thanks for the interest. Some day I hope to port this over to SR2030 but would need some help. There is a lot that would need to be adjusted and tested. If you know anyone that would like to help send them my way.

Tikimon, I just ran a test and I did not get a crash on Sep 3rd 1943 or Sep 3rd 1944.
