Description



This mod is part of the OvN Lost Factions mod series which adds new and interesting factions & races to the game and requires Mixu's Unlocker to work. These races are available to play in the Immortal Empires campaign and custom battles.


Empire Faction
  • Major Playable Factions
    • Grudgebringers - Led by Commander Morgan Bernhardt, starting in the Border Princes

    What's Included
    • New Playable Faction 'Grudgebringers' - Like any new faction for an existing race you can expect new Legendary Lords, Mechanics, Units whilst using stuff from the existing race.
    • Full Custom RoR's & Heroes - Nearly 40 fully custom RoR's and heroes that can be unlocked through their unique mechanic outlined below.
    • Custom Mechanics
      • Grudgebringer Troop Roster - Complete Long Contracts to unlock Regiments of Renown. Details of the unit and their unlock requirements can be found in the Grudgebringer Troop Roster. Even if you fail, you’ll get another chance to receive the RoR when returning a settlement to a faction of order or from completing contracts. On a new campaign some RoR are chosen at random to be unlockable while others will be locked which is stated in the Troop Roster.
      • Local Contracts - Interact with occasional spawning marker to take on local contracts for financial rewards to fight in loads of custom battles.
      • Contracts - Accept Contracts (Just like the Ogres) issued by Order factions for military action against targeted characters and settlements of the forces of evil. In return for rewards and improved diplomatic relations with the Contract issuers.
      • Restore Settlements & Camps - Grudgebringers can't occupy settlements. Instead, return razed settlements to nearby Order factions for gold, military aid and improved diplomatic relations. They can deploy camps like Ogres and recruit troops from these.
      • Mercenary Replenishment - Replenish units in full for gold when near to settlements (not including ruins), owned by the factions of Order. Move an army near to an Order-faction owned settlement and a replenish icon will now appear on the unit cards in the army panel. Hovering over the icon will display the cost to replenish the unit and selecting the icon will replenish your units health to full and deduct the stated cost from your treasury

    Plus many other little features mentioned on their lord select page and some that are not (Hint - check out the name of newly recruited basic units)


    F.A.Q. & Compatibility
    Mod Won't Start/Missing Updates
    There is a chance after the mod gets updated that steam will fail to download the update, possibly corrupting your version of the mod. If your game crashes on game start, you are missing something from a recent update or have some other issues try this;
    1) Restart Steam - This can kick start the process of checking for mod updates
    2) Unsubscribe and resubscribe to all the required mods - To properly unsub, unsub from the mod, start the game launcher, quit and resub. This will give you a fresh install of the mod and often fixes problems for people.
    3) Use PropJoes WH3 Mod Manager

    Mod Compatibility and Compatibility Submods
    - The mod is compatible with Cataph's Southern Realm and if you return a settlement to a TEB faction you can get Cataph's units.
    - The mod is compatible with Mixu's Mousillon and the mission for the Grail Knights RoR will not be abandoned and will target Mixu's new faction

    - The mod is not compatible with Dark Omen & Shadow of the Horned Rat, Heroes and Regiments of Renown, if you want a campaign as the Empire with Grudgebringer RoR than use that mod and disable this one. If you want to play as a Grudgebringer campaign than vice versa.

    Bug Reporting
    Before reporting a bug make sure you have done the following;
    1) Subscribed to all the required mods.
    2) Turned off all other mods and replicated the bug.
    3) Unsubscribed and resubscribed to all the required mods.

    If you still have a bug post it to discord, ideally with a screenshot - at the OvN channel on Da Modding Den[discord.gg], Lost Factions[discord.gg] or if it is a small bug you can post in the comments but please try the above at least before posting. This helps us out and saves us time so we can concentrate on genuine bugs.

yeah usually escape works, it didn't . Weirdly a restart did work fine

If it's because there's no Close button visible onscreen, try the Escape key. If it's not that then I don't know I'm afraid

When I start a new game i can't close the initial mission issued window...Might be a script break. Any advice?

I'm running into a big where the RR requirements are completed without me fighting the necessary fights (e.g. win X number of battles against y faction)

You are correct.

I should have paid more attention to the FAQ & Compatibility section bc that was from the Dark Omen & Shadow of the Horned Rat, Heroes and Regiments of Renown Mod (which is already listed as incompatible with this).

Complete user error on my end (might want to move that bullet point out of the "Mod Compatibility and Compatibility Submods" category, add a "Known Incompatible Mods" section/bold header for legibility).

Any thoughts on adding this to the MCT options like how SCM: Might of the Maw and Legendary Characters mods do for the overlapping ogres?

Confed gb dilemma isn't coming from this mod

Cool mod and a ton of fun, but was running into a game crashing bug when playing as another Empire faction (see report below).

The crash was initiated/repeatable via the confed the GB event that occurs when completing the quest to first move a character into Ubersreik.

If it is early in the game/before they spawn on the map (around turn 15, basing their spawn turn on when they populated in my diplomacy panel) the confed occurs without issue. Testing using my save files, I was able to confed the GB on turns 3 & 13 before they spawned.

If the wait 10 turns option is selected twice or the quest isn't completed until later in the game/after they have spawned on the map, when you select confed the GB in the event the game crashes. After turn 23+ it would consistently cause a crash.

I hypothesize that this might be due to the default factions not being able to handle the GB camp system/existing camps when the event fires, but this is baseless speculation.

I really like the mechanic where you get to pay money to heal units instantly at friendly cities. Is anyone aware of a standalone mod that would do this during a non-Grudgebringer run?

@shnavooz85. Thanks, I'll look at it further. I am using the moving camp additional mod, maybe that is having something to do with it as well, although that isn't mentioned in the description
