New unique animals!

"I Will Be Haunted By My Actions Forever, Hoot Hoot!”
- Hootsifer

What is ReGrowth?

ReGrowth is a mod deeply influenced by the philosophy of the Vanilla Expanded Series and the understanding how biomes work, what role they play in your game. Everything added was made to fit or mirror vanilla. From a simple UI texture to a new more complex system, being as performance and vanilla friendly is the main objective we have.

Inspired by the Disney show “The Owl House”, the Boiling Forests is a new biome filled with colourful trees, plants and hotsprings. Created by a long gone megacorp for an immersive theme park, it is unknown how this biome made its way to a Rimworld. It is by far the most unique biome I have made so far and I am honestly stunned by it myself.

Boiling Forests are a simple biome, there is no performance hungry code you can't turn off or new features you will only find there. Its goal is to add variety for the player and to bring things from “The Owl House” into Rimworld in a lore friendly way!

ReGrowth is designed to be as lightweight as possible, adding the minimum of new code required for its auditions to work.

These are all the mods we currently support from our end:

  • Vanilla Fishing Expanded
  • World Map Beautification Project
  • Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Architect

Q: Can this mod be added to an existing save?
A: Yes, but you won't see the biome unless you create a new save.

Q: Can this mod be removed from a save?
A: No, I do not recommend removing mods that add a biome during an active game.

Q: Can I use other mods that do similar changes to the game? (GreenRim, etc.)
A: Probably yes, but I can't guarantee that everything works as it should.

Q: Is this mod part of the Vanilla Expanded Series?
A: No, while you might see similar people attached, it is NOT a Vanilla Expanded mod.

Which variable makes the boiling rain cause damage to pawns? I'd like to do the same sort of deadly rain in my own mod.

Just a heads up folks, unlike other ReGrowth mods, this one is not patched by Combat Extended, meaning the Owlbeast will be pretty underwhelming. I'd suggest CherryPicker to disable the Owlbeast if you want to use the biome.

Are the owlbeasts supposed to have such crazy regen? I thought I was gonna lose mine to blood loss only for me to check on them walking back to base no wounds what so ever.

I have a dumb question...would this clash with alpha biomes?

The Owlbeast sprite is super cool. Kinda me wish there was a similar mod to the re:growth extinct animals one but with fantasy beasts or at least just a way to get the Owlbeast without the new weather event and world tiles cuz I don't really use them as much.

can boilberries be added to Regrowths Berry Cultivation research?

Why is VE Architect listed as compatible? Shouldnt all mods that just add structures be compatible?

I love the legally-distinct genetically engineered owlbear. I honestly find it a bit sad that this is a setting with genetic engineering that allows the people in-universe to make whatever creatures they want, and so few people want to mod in creatures that are anything but real-world animals or just go for pure fantasy "dragons were living on this planet before it was canonically terraformed." It feels like a waste that nobody is running with "there are elves here because a noble said 'hey, I want to live a really long time and be pretty, so genetic engineer me into having long ears and an even longer life! Counterbalance? Bah, I'll never work, so just take out some bone density or something.'"

I love this Boiling biome together with Aspen Forest, except for the fact that the biome density is so little. I just wish you increased the spawning tiles of this biome.

Same as @FluffDragon, Boiling rain damage can't be disabled, except I'm on 1.5, not 1.4. I wanted to make a pleasure resort colony where folks can live in luxury near the hot springs but instead they're all hiding inside miserable because the rain is burning them and spawning a million infections.
