Description
PLEASE PLAY THIS MOD ON THE PROPER BETA BRANCH AND WITH THE NECESSARY DEPENDENCIES ENABLED! IT WILL NOT WORK OTHERWISE!

"Russia, 1941 - red bear and hooked cross contend on the ice. A great hinge of the Corrivality will turn..."
“I have told you of Names. Once the dust is settled, there will be opportunity for one to be appointed. The Colonel would see that it is his. My Foe and I share a noble station; neither of us wish to be Named so. But someone must be, and I would wager that is you.”
APOSTLE OBDURANT is a mod for Cultist Simulator that adds a whole new legacy and ascension path. Taking place sixteen years after the events of THE EXILE, you will assume the role of a Red Army officer fighting against the German invasion of the Soviet Union during the Second World War. During your battlefield travels, you encountered the Exile, and brokered a strong friendship with them.

Before they left to fight their Foe, the Exile shared a secret with you: this war is a special contest between the Edge-Hours, and the prize of victory is the raising of a new Name. When the dust settles - and if you have proved yourself - it is you who might be Named for the Colonel.

March east, to Stalingrad, where a great hinge of the Corrivality will turn. Earn your scars. Overcome your enemies. Meet your destiny.

This mod includes (among other things):
  • A new legacy, available after achieving the Eternal Enmity ending under the Colonel in the Exile DLC. You can also start it from the Sixth History menu if you choose to.
  • A new, difficult ascension path for Namehood under the Colonel.
  • A host of allies and enemies to try your might against as you traverse the Eastern Front.
  • Seven new endings with achievement support on the start screen's COLLECTION menu.
  • A new soundtrack
  • 200+ pieces of original artwork
  • Support for Russian and Chinese language translation
______________________________________________________________

"The place where I am to be Named waits in the east, beyond the Volga. Stalingrad is where I shall find my destiny."

Your Long-comrade - the one they call Exile - has charged you with the duty of becoming the Colonel's Name. The road to ascension will be arduous and long. Fight your enemies across 19 warzones on the Eastern Front and rise in the estimation of the Edge-Hours. Suffer the scars of battle, and present them before the Colonel's shrines to master them. Learn lost techniques of combat and wield them against titanic foes. If you achieve mastery; if you kill the right enemies; if you commit yourself fully to the duty to which you have been called, the Colonel may call you up from the battlefield to become his instrument.

"The men I command - weary, fierce, loyal - salute as I pass."

You are an officer in Red Army. At your side and under your command are the winter-worn, stone-faced, and determined soldiers of the Soviet Union. Coordinate operations across a wide scale by wisely allotting your men and resources; track down, detain, and force hiding adepts to assist your troops against the Wehrmacht; order your soldiers to offer assistance to the locals of a war-torn city - or break down their doors in search of supplies. If you want to make it to Stalingrad alive, you will need the assistance of your brothers-in-arms.

"The enemy approaches - can we rise to meet them?"

1941, the Eastern Front: the Germans advance towards Stalingrad in tanks, in planes, in marching columns of riflemen. But they are not the only enemies you'll find on the field. The flames of war burn furious in Russia, thinning the boundaries between the world and the House, unsettling reality. Dead men rise from their graves to torment the living. Monsters lope through the snow to dine on battlefield dead. And where the Corrivality burns at its height, those terrible immortals called Edge-Long may be drawn to the fighting like sharks to blood...

Can someone help me if there is something im just not getting or is it just I have absurdly bad luck
Enemy keeps exclusively hitting my actual troops, my troops keep rolling random injuries at the exact same time as the "Injured troops die" event, I have been playing for hours and have not seen a single engineer which is frustrating when the aforementioned keep rolling random injuries and taking out my single unit capable of dealing with the 4 enemy armored units that spawned

I don't *really* think this mod needs further recommendation, but I literally bought The Exile DLC just so I could play this. I have since played both; my verdict is this mod is (in my opinion) genuinely better than the DLC I paid for. Crazy tough, the mod WANTS to end your bloodline, but it is oh so sweet to persevere and claim your namehood.

Is it possible to temporarily send way your named allies for the duel with the edge long? Its kind of annoying that you can spend so much time levelling them up only for them to be permanently banished because of a coin flip at the start of the game

I also think explosives should have a better use or something to incentivize you to use it more often since they are too weak to be used for counter attacks and dont do much against much else since 1.Most dual challenges are not Edge and Forge and 2. Neither are high enough to be used against anything. Maybe to close the gap if you dont have the right allies, but you often get 4 Forge opportunities anyways. One suggestion i have is making obstacles like barricades get an automatic success if you use explosives. Like how armour-piercing ammo does with tanks. Or simply having more dual Edge/Forge challenges in general. I mean, im pretty sure explosives should be able to counter some basic infantry men. I believe that's all for now, your mod is really fun to play. And it feels pretty tense most of the time. Once i had to stall the timer from injuries in my eye, arm, and leg while my army marched to the next city. Got like 30s on each one. Anyway's, keep up the good work.

I believe half of my current playtime has been spent playing this mod. It is that good, but i have to critique that the start of each run does take quite a good bit before starting proper. First from the opening, then from the march. whis is around a bit more of 3 minutes(speed up) of doing nothing besides some scout on the way there. Maybe the march on the first city could take less time. Or there could be more things to do in a ruined country like random opportunities that you only could try your luck at once each run. Maybe enemies appear more often. Not only that, it does seem to lack a bit on the replayability factor, since so far as i have seen, you could go though the exact same route of cities to get a similar run to your last one. Which is interesting if yore someone who likes to route and optimize. Thus, i conclude that this mod is pretty good, but lacks a bunch on the replay factor.

@Sunpulsar - Not at this time, as the soundtrack is set per-legacy

@Flinch - Forgot to mention this before, but the last patch took care of this problem

Hi, is there any options or settings to change the music back to the classic cult-sim soundtrack? I found that after a while the music got grating after a while especially since the track doesn't change as far as i could notice, so any option to be able to configure it would be really nice, if it's not a lot of trouble to code or something.

The enemy long is capable of eating refuelling german bombers when he is on his rampage (which i was very grateful for but I suspect is unintended)

Ok know what, nevermind what I said, I was just an idiot. I didnt realise the Call to Duty with the dream thing gave different responses and i just got one that explicitly told me I'm supposed to do the fighting. I owe you an apology, it wasn't a problem with the mod at all, I just got a bad roll of the dice.

If you still wanna make the change tho go ahead. Just know that your mod truly doesn't have an achilles heel.

@Hammy - I see what you're saying and if I find some time to go back into Obdurant's dialogue/writing at some point in the future, I'll consider making a change. No promises!
