1. A baseline "metal spear"? Comperable to the wooden spear but relying on the Welding skill?
2. Allowing Metal Spear Heads to be attached to metal rods/spear? (*insert Mandalorian flute sound here* )
Suppose we have a spear called Metal spear with magical paperclip The paperclip is ridiculously weak, so it has a max value of 1. If the condition lowers on the paperclip spear, it will break. However, coz it's a magic paperclip, we'll give it a lower chance of 1 in 100. With such a high pool, it's unlikely to roll a 1, so despite it's inherent weakness it will most likely last a good amount of time.
That's essentially how weapon durability works in PZ. You could check the files to see specifically which spear is better than another, but it's pretty intuitive. Magic paperclip aside, if it's made from a stronger item, it will likely be more durable.
Since it's rare to see an author actually respond to comments like this, I have one more question @Monkey Magic.
How does the durability of the spears work? I assume you used a similar system to vanilla, where the condition of the added knife affects the condition and damage of the crafted spear. But how exactly does this work? Would love to learn which knifes are the best to collect and which spears last the longest.
Thanks for the amazing mod and for responding fast!
They will also auto-unlock without reading the book that holds that recipe at Tier 4 in Spears or Maintenance regardless.
Does it randomly choose the recipe? I surely need something metal. I just wanna make sure it is easily craftable and doesn't take 5 metal bars and 10 ducktape haha.
Thanks for the mod!
EDIT - So I looked into the sharpness thing, and they were already set to be sharpenable (barring the hand-fork since the vanilla one isn't either) and turns out there was a small script error making it not work.
Have updated now, and the majority should be sharpenable now.
Also i'm not sure if it's an issue on my end, but I can still seemingly repair the spears despite the mod saying they can't.
