Halo 3: Combat Evolved

Description

Halo 3: Combat Evolved is a mod for Halo 3: ODST that re-creates the Halo: Combat Evolved Multiplayer and Campaign experiences within Halo 3: ODST.

Information
The mod is HEAVILY work in progress, bugs, issues and missing content is to be expected. I am the only person working on this mod currently and remaking all levels from Combat Evolved, polishing them, ai placement, scripting and more takes a huge amount of my time so there is bound to be issues I overlook during development. If you found any bugs or have general feedback make sure to let me know!

Because this mod utilizes the Halo 3 ODST engine, you can play through Halo: Combat Evolved's campaign with up to 4 players in online Co-Op. A few select cutscenes have also been modified to account for the increased player count.

While I wanted the mod to stay as close as possible to Combat Evolved, I eventually made the decision to introduce cut content from Combat Evolved as well as a few custom (non intrusive) encounters to spice up the campaign and give it a fresh coat of paint.

Cut content such as encounters, scripts, items and set pieces have been re-added.

How to Play
To play, simply just subscribe to the mod and wait until the download is finished. Once finished you need to launch MCC with EAC Disabled.

For Campaign you need to head over to Campaigns > Halo 3: ODST > Halo 3: Combat Evolved and select any level.

For Multiplayer you need to head over to Multiplayer > Custom Multiplayer > Halo 3: ODST > Modded Maps. Unlike Campaign, all of the workshops items you've subscribed to are shown. Halo 3: Combat Evolved maps will have "Halo 3: Combat Evolved" in the end of their descriptions.

For Firefight you need to head over to Firefight > Halo 3: ODST Custom Firefight > Modded Missions. Just like Multiplayer, all of the workshop items you've subscribed to are shown.

Keyes uses Romeo's dialogue in-gameplay
There's a chance you can soft lock when Keyes is about to die right when you get a checkpoint
Projectiles have a chance to go through "4 way" hallways in The Truth & Reconciliation

Firefight
Sentinels, Flood Stalkers and Flood Tanks do not spawn and can soft lock the session
Many issues with 4+ player firefight

It's marvelous! Everything is recreated with such precision, it's like it's not a mod, but an official remake of Halo CE on the Halo 3 engine. I loved this level so much that I started to seriously regret that Halo CE Anniversary isn't like this mod. I dislike the new graphics and style in Halo CE Anniversary as much as I like the visuals in this mod. I admire how responsibly the authors handled the realization of this mission. They carried over everything from the original, but with the graphics, physics, and gameplay of Halo 3. This is what a remaster of the first game should have been, the guys who did this, you are super good! :MCCHALO:

Seriously, even if it's a single level- PLAY IT. Support this dude. This is an amazing "remaster", H1 has never looked or played better. The only difference for "die-hards" of Halo 1 (like myself) is the movement is different, and the plasma rounds are easier to dodge.

Take 20 years, idc. I just hope 343 doesn't buy your skills, or else this'll be another IP they'll sit on (like the Halo 1 COOP VR mod...) they don't deserve to crush your passion.

The level Keyes was already finished alongside T&R back when this was an Halo 3 mod. But after switching to the ODST engine Kiera decided to remake T&R again and this new version looks fantastic as you guys can probably tell. So right now he is working on his second remake of Keyes for this mod.

So yeah, this dude may be taking a while, but I'm sure it will look fantastic considering his original Halo 3 remake of the Keyes remake already looked very impressive. So if he thought that remake wasn't even good enough for him, then this second remake is most likely going to be VERY good.
