I've hit the first milestone for the overhaul. Abilities are done, with 302 of 310 implemented in some way compared to 239 previously. Admittedly, some are loosely implemented or are only changes to attributes and/or personality, but I hope in the future that I'll be able to include the actual mechanics for them.

My next goal is the moves. The ground work is set for their implementation, so it shouldn't take awfully long.

A lot of the calculations will be using numbers you can modify easily if you so wish. They'll be on the top of script files in ALL_CAPS with comments. I'm also aiming to have it accommodate removing certain Pokemon or generations. Modifying available moves and abilities will also be simple.

@d41337n8r - I would imagine so. Lua is very easy to read (unless the programmer goes out of their way to make it hard to read lol/bad coding habits), and if any of their stats/inclusion/etc end up relying on lua instead of the normal way, you would probably just edit the related parts in lua instead.

Sounds interesting, I'm excited to see what Lua can do for this mod. I just hope it'll still be easy to open the mod up and customize it, since I like to play with PMD in fortress mode with a particular selection of pokemon available as civilizations and some of those pokemon are too weak or slow or small to realistically sustain a fortress of, so I made a copy of the mod where I've buffed them. I hope it's still possible to do that with Lua, and also that I don't have to reset worlds if the pokemon I picked has a bad ability or moves.

Many great changes are coming. I'm basically overhauling the mod to use Lua. It's about time I looked over it again, and now I can make everything scripted.

Body stuff and tissue colors are still manual, but that's because it's so unique. Everything else is calculated by inputting all the appropriate stats. One feature to look forward to is the various moves and abilities being available and unique per world. It will probably take some time to go over everything and reimplement it, but it's absolutely going to be worth it.
