Patrum Scuta

Opis

Patrum Scuta is a complete emblem overhaul mod for Crusader Kings III, intended to be the successor of its namesake for CK2.

Updated for 1.12.x

Features
- New shield frames : using different colour scheme, uniform shape between titles and dynasties. No more red overlay but a less intrusive greyed out shield frame for inactive titles.

- New banners. Based on historical design. Designed from scratch to fit the shield shapes better than vanilla.

- Extended coverage of prescripted title & dynastic coat of arms on the map. Hundreds of new counties & dynasties. Also includes hundreds of new historical arms for holdings in Western Europe.

- New improved random generated heraldry with regional variants and clean designs all made to fit the shield frame perfectly.

- Extended use of dynamic titles (Reconquista, Sicily, the historical Outremer, New plausible crusader kingdoms in Egypt, Asia Minor, etc)

- Revamped CoA designer with dozens of ready to use historical base designs. Hundred of ordinaries & charges to combine : separate normal charges ready to use at 100% / small charges to use/replace/resize within multiple pieces designs.

Compatibility
Compatible with pretty much anything that's not a Total Conversion. While not incompatible per se with TCs, keep in mind that this is a historical accuracy focusing mod, so it is tailored to work with the historical setup and failing to provide that, all that's left is an empty shell.

As stated in the description above, total conversions aim to change the game's historical setup which is what this mod is built upon. By essence there's not much left to apply this mod to, you get an empty shell at best (and if anything works like random gen or the frames it's not matching or adapting to anything anymore so hardly immersive).

Sadly not compatible with AGoT.

Haven't test myself but I dont see a reason why not (there's no change to gameplay in the mod).

Does it support multiplayer?

@Pippintastic yes i believe it is, i used both mods and didnt crash and the emblems had no issues applying to the banner/shield, etc.

is Patrum Scuta still compatible with Cat's COA Emblems and Better CoA? I'd really like to use them all.

You could try putting that mod below PS in the load order if you havent already.

For some reason, this causes the features of COW3 not to work, ie the cities of COW don't show their "special" characteristics. I've tested all of my mods, and I can't figure why its doing it.

That's what I was afraid of. The game apparently can't handle having more than one dynamic definition for any title so I have to remove my other pagan variants for the scandinavian titles which will fix the norse ones. The bad news is that we can't have three way title variants (ie christian vs pagan vs muslim).

Hey, i dont know if this has been reported already, but i noticed a bug today with your mod: whenever you form a scandinavian kingdom as asatru norse, it should have a pagan CoA. but with your mod active, after creating the title the CoA becomes the normal, feudal-christian CoA
